‘Suspicious Package’ Closes Merkel Office
The office of German Chancellor Angela Merkel was sealed off Wednesday morning, after a suspicious package was found outside.
An officer discovered four yellow crates laying in the snow outside Merkel’s office during a routine morning patrol at 8:30am. The area was sealed off as police investigated.
Several hours later, authorities told reporters that “the experts found nothing suspicious.”
It was later revealed the crates were full of mail.
Germany, and the rest of Europe, remain on heightened alert after the November 2015 Paris shootings, which were credited to the Islamic terror group Isis.
