Israel and Gaza Agree To New Ceasefire

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her Egyptian counterpart announce the new ceasefire.

Israel and Gaza have agreed to a new ceasefire, according to reports, a day after a first settlement never took hold.

The new agreement was brokered with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, reports CNN. It is scheduled to start at 21:00 Israeli time (14:00 ET).

“With more than an hour to go before the agreement formally took hold, rockets could be seen streaking from Gaza into the sky toward Israel,” CNN reports. “It was not immediately clear if Israel had suspended its military operations.”

A brokered agreement on Tuesday night never took hold, due to internal political pressures on both the Israeli and Palestinian sides.

No details of the new agreement were made public.

  1. Chewbacca says

Bibi Netanyahu is a Woody Allen Jew. He talks tough but in the end, he is a cowardly wimp like all the so-called hard-liners. Only Rabbi Kahane could have led them out of their self-imposed wimpishness but he was barred from the Knesset and banned from the mass media and that led to his assassination. This capitulation to the Arabs and cow-towing to mommy (Hillary Clinton) is typical. Suck those Zyklon B canisters. You’ve learned nothing from the holocaust. Those who do not remember history are condemned to repeat it-(Santayana)- You will be holocausted again!!
