HT: The Daily Paul
Texas Congressman and US presidential candidate Ron Paul has vowed to cut US$1 trillion from the federal budget without affecting military spending, and take a salary of only US$40,000 a year if elected president.
The budget cuts will come from eliminating five government departments, reports David Brody from the Christian Broadcasting Network. In a rough outline given exclusively to the social-conservative network by the Paul campaign, the Departments of Education, Energy, Housing and Urban Development, Commerce and Interior would be cut, and certain functions would be rolled into other departments.
“For example, the Department of Education would be done away with but pell grant programs would be phased in somewhere else,” Brody writes.
In addition, Paul plans to take a presidential salary of only US$39, 336, which is the median salary of the American worker. “The President’s base salary is normally $400,000,” Brody notes.
Further details about Paul’s plan are scheduled to be released on Monday during a press conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In 1776 the USA went to war with England to gain their sovereignty and the right to control the issuance of their own money. It’s been a war to keep those rights and they lost it in 1913 with the passage of the Federal Reserve Act. The Federal Reserve is neither “Federal” nor a “Reserve,” but the private cash cow of the International Banking cartel.
