Barricades in Hackney were set ablaze Monday night.
An ethnic riot that started in an immigrant section of London three days ago has engulfed the city and spread to several other towns, with its end nowhere in sight.
Police said that so far, 525 were arrested in London alone, and 35 officers have been injured. A 26-year-old man shot as he sat in his car in Croydon on Monday night died in hospital on Tuesday, the first known death of the riots.
Damages quickly escalated into the hundreds of millions as stores were looted and entire city blocks burnt to the ground.
The riots were sparked by news that Tottehamn resident Mark Duggan, a 29-year-old father of three, was shot dead by police during a drug bust last Thursday. Officers who shot Duggan were part of Operation Trident, a London Metropolitan police unit which deals with gun crime in communities populated by Blacks.

This fact led community activists to quickly martyr Duggan, who is Black, as an innocent victim of institutional racism in Britian. A peaceful demonstration outside the Tottenham police station on Friday night turned ugly very quickly, as several hundred people threw bottles filled with gasoline at police lines and confronted officers with baseball bats and bars. Two police cars and a double-decker bus were set alight, stores were looted and several buildings along Tottenham’s main street were reduced to smoldering shells.
While friends and relatives of Duggan claimed that he was unarmed, The UK Daily Mail reports Duggan, a crack dealer who became paranoid after his cousin was killed in a gang battle, was the first to open fire on police who carried out the raid. Ballistics tests performed on a bullet found lodged in the officer’s walkie-talkie prove this to be true. The UK Guardian reports that Duggan was killed by a single gunshot blast to the chest.
In a stunning admission from the normally-uber-PC British press, The UK Daily Mail has admitted that the rioters are made up of almost exclusively Black and non-Whites – and that they are targeting White people:

One eye witness in Hackney saw a group of 100 Turkish Kurdish men chasing another group with sticks and bottles after their shops were looted.The area has a large Turkish community, which normally coexists peacefully with people of other ethnic groups.
Borrowing from the so-called “flash mob” technique developed by African-Americans to coordinate rampages across the US, rioters used SMS messaging and social media, including Facebook and Twitter, to organize their attacks.

Since Friday, the riots have spread across London. By Monday night, areas hit included Clapham Junction, south-west London; Croydon; Hackney, east London; Peckham; the leafy north London suburb of Enfield; Camden; Ealing; Notting Hill; Woolwich, Pointers End and Lewisham.

Outbreaks of violence have also been seen in Oxford Circus, Brixton, Waltham Forest, Islington, Clapham Junction and Poinders End.
The violence has spread north to the cities of Birmingham, Liverpool and Bristol in what police are calling “copycat” outbreaks.
Google has set up a live Google maps event of the riots to let resident know where hot spots are and stay away from them.

One device favored by the rioters has been Blackberry, due to its fast instant messaging service. Blackberry manufacturer, Research in Motion, said in a statement: “We feel for those impacted by the riots in London. We have engaged with the authorities to assist in any way we can.”

Citizens have retaliated against the rioters using social media as well. A new tumblr blog called Catch a Looter allows Londoners to post pictures or videos of those involved in violence or looting. A Facebook page, Let’s catch the London 2011 rioters and looters, shows numerous images and videos available, often clearly showing the rioters’ faces.
Police claim to be monitoring active Twitter and Facebook feeds as they become aware of them.

As the riots entered their fourth day, measures that would be used in America or elsewhere within the first 24 hours to quell such an event, like establishing a curfew or bringing in the military, were still being debated on by MPs, reports the The UK Guardian.
A further illustration of how ill-prepared authories are for such a scenario was underscored by the paper, makes a great deal of the possibility of water cannons being used on the rioters. The device has been used by the British in Northern Ireland, but never on “the mainland,” the paper notes.

On Tuesday, the possibility of rubber and plastic bullets being used for the first time “on the mainland” was discussed.
The crisis brought May and Prime Minister David Cameron home early from vacations. May returned to London on Monday, while Cameron arrived early Tuesday morning on a special RAF flight.
Cameron rushed home from a two-week holiday in Tuscany after media cricism about his abscence started to grow. Before the criticism started, Cameron’s spokespeople said he had no intention of leaving his vacation.

An emergency COBRA meeting was held Tuesday morning whereTim Godwin, the acting Metropolitan police commissioner, briefed ministers on the riots. COBRA stands for Cabinet Office briefing room A, which is used for crisis meetings.
After the meeting, Cameron announced 16,000 police officers are to be placed on the London streets, up from 6,000 the night before.

I used to live in Peckham. You are way off the mark – these kids were born and raised in Britain some of them third or fourth generation. I lived there and they were my neighbors. A protest by community leaders was siezed on by a bunch of kids to go “midnight shopping” two totally different issues. The community leaders pleaded with the police to be more forthcoming about the shooting incident. The man that was shot had been caught up in gang culture and thug life but was a family man trying to get up and out of it. The police were busy painting a picture of him to the media to justify his killing and neglected to inform his family of his death at their hands which is the normal procedure. The independent inquiry into his death shows no evidence that he opened fire on police. Which ethnic invaders are you going to kick out of America by the way? The Blacks that were brought as slaves – the Irish that were brought as indentured servants? The Anglos that took the land from the tribes?
