Zimbabwe To Sell Uranium To Iran
Zimbabwe’s foreign minister, Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, has announced his country will sell uranium ore to Iran, calling United Nations sanctions against the Isalmic Republic “unfair and hypocritical.”
In return for the exculusive access, Zimbabwe would get much-needed fuel supplies from Iran.
Although this news was first reported back in April 2010, confirmation of the deal comes from a leaked intelligence report compiled by the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog group IAEA. and reported on by The UK Telegraph.
The paper claims Zimbabwe has 455,000 tons of uranium stock, which could produce energy for 5 years, but little rescources or know-how on processing it.
