Larry Sinclair claimed in a YouTube video that he had a gay affair with Barack Obama.
Larry Sinclair, the man who made national headlines when he claimed to have engaged in a cocaine-fueled gay sex affair with Barack Obama back in 1999 when the President was Illinois state Senator, has abruptly retired from public life.
“I am sick of this bulls–t,” Sinclair says in a video titled “It’s Over,” posted on September 25th. “It doesn’t matter what truth is anymore. The truth doesn’t matter in this country [the United States].”
Sinclair has also shut off all methods of communication, including cellphone numbers, social networking accounts, and his website, LarrySinclair.org.
The last poston his website, made September 27, reads:
After spending almost three years being attacked, lied about, and misrepresented for no other purpose than to protect the likes of Barack & Michelle Obama, David Axelrod and Internet Pornographer Daniel (Dan) Parisi I simply decided it was not worth it any more.
I am proud of the fact that I wrote Barack Obama & Larry Sinclair: Cocaine, Sex, Lies and Murder? and I am confident that history will be kind to me and prove me to be the one telling the truth. It is my sincere wish that the TRUTH will matter in America again someday.

Sinclair's story quickly became tabloid fodder
Shortly after making headlines with his claims, Sinclair was paid US $10,000 to take a lie detector test in February 2008. Controversy and charges of dubious handling of the test by its takers were made by Sinclair after he failed it.
Sinclair was arrested on an outdated warrant after holding a press conference in the National Press Club in June 2008. He later wrote a tell-all book about his claims and the surrounding conspiracies, Cocaine, Sex, Lies and Murder?.
After a considerable time out of the spotlight, Sinclair reappeared as a write-in candidate for Congress in Florida’s 24th District.
