Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin (right) met with Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak
Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak and his Russian counterpart, Anatoly Serdyukov, signed an agreement Monday that strengthens military cooperation between their respective countries.
While details of the agreement are not known, Russian President Vladamir Putin said his country has purchased 12 drone aircraft and would supply 36 more, worth around $100 million.
Russia fought against drones during its 2008 war against Georgia.
Putin also said Russia has “launched a few satellites in Israel’s interests” and is “examining the possibility of equipping Israeli airplanes with our instruments and laser equipment.”
Barak said Israel was “ready to continue sharing experience with the Russian military on fighting terrorism and ensuring security, including by using air drones.”
Israel also hopes to dissuade Russia from selling supersonic P-800 Yakhont cruise missiles to rival Syria, which would pose a serious threat to the Israeli navy in the Mediterranean. There are also concerns the weapons could be transferred to Hezbollah.
Russia also heavily involved in Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant, which Israel vehemently opposes.

Someone is going to have to invade Iran since Israel won't do anything themselves besides bomb Gaza from hundreds of miles away. Might as well be Russia.
Look at the situation America is in with the wars it already has on its plate – overburdended troops (suicides continue to rise as soldiers go on tour after tour with no end in sight), everyone from Ann Coulter to Ron Paul to Michael Steele say Afghanistan is a lost cause, and the American people are simply getting fed up with the wars, even if they’re renamed to something more clinical.
Do you really think the American people and military are going to stomach yet another war of conquest for Israeli soverignty? We are not going to march into Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iran, and Israel can’t do it on her own, either. Hell, they can’t even handle Hezbollah on their own. So they’re working on getting Russia to do their dirty work.
For those who were paying attention, Webster Tarpley said more than two years ago that the long term goal is to get Russia to fight Iran, much like how they got Nazi Germany and Russia to fight each other. Somehow though, they always overplay their hand. And they will do it again with this one. You betcha.

Stalin’s foreign secretary was a Jew, Max Litvinov and because the Nazis didn’t like it, Stalin had him arrested for treason and shot! He was replaced by Molotov, a gentile. Stalin was planning to attack Hitler and Hitler got the jump on him. Hitler saw “Jewish Bolshevism” as the enemy of Germany and National Socialism.
