Embattled California Democrat Congresswoman, Maxine Waters, is blaming racism and former US President George W. Bush for being charged with ethics charges she will face in an upcoming trial this November.
“There’s a lot being said about why so many Black elected officials getting caught up with this new O.C.E. [Office of Congressional Ethics] organization,” Waters recently said. “I think about now, or recently, about eight members of the congressional black caucus are being investigated and I think more to come. So people are raising questions about that.”
Waters faces three charges stemming from her allegedly trying to secure a US $50 million loan for the self-described “First Black-Owned Internet Bank,” OneUnited. Her husband, Sidney Williams, served on its board until early 2008 and had about US$250,000 in bank stock.
Members of the Black Congressional Caucus have anonymously grumbled about alleged “racism” in the Waters case and that of New York Democrat Congressman Charlie Rangel, who will also face an ethics trial this November.
Waters also blames Bush for not arranging a meeting between OneUnited and Treasury members to secure a life-saving loan, which forced her to step in.
“The question at this point should not be why I called Secretary Paulson, but why I had to,” she said. “The question at this point should be why a trade association representing over 100 minority banks could not get a meeting at the height of the crisis.”

Could it be any other way? I mean she couldn’t actually be guilty could she? Being black is not an excuse to break the law.
When all else fails either blame the white president or play the race card.
Like Frank Of Queens has said so many times – pulling the racism card is the last refuge of a black scoundrel…

And I thought that Hussein Obama was going to erase racism in this country.
That’s what the Liberals said.
Part of being a victim is avoiding responsibility for your actions at all costs.
