Pat Cadell
A former presidential pollster describes the American mood as “pre-revolutionary” and predicts an electoral sea-change this November that has never been seen before.
“We are headed for a tidal wave in Novemeber, the likes of which I don’t even know the dimensions yet,” former pollster for President Carter, Pat Cadell, told FOX News last week.”It’s still forming.”
Monthly tracking by Democracy Corps, a polling group headed by former Clinton adviser James Carville, shows 64% of Americans say the country is headed in the wrong direction. When rating which party could do a better job of handling the economy, Republicans are chosen over Democrats by 49%-36% margin.
The main issue with American voters, Cadell says, is the economy. And Obama Administration policies are seen as being out of touch and ineffective, he says.
On top of that, Cadell says his own polling shows that passage of Obamacare legislation is a “disaster,” one Democrats are continually deluding themselves over.
“The Democrat Party is fracturing [over Obamacare and economic policy],” Cadell says. “Old line Democrats like myself, who believe the Democrat Party is supposed to stand for ordinary people, they think you should be worried about jobs first. [But] The Democrat Party has essentially been hijacked by an over-educated elite group who basically don’t care about the people who constitute the Democrat Party.”
Caldell cites a recent CNN poll that shows that 56% of Americans believe their government has become a direct and immediate threat to their own freedom.
“That, is pre-revolutionary,” Cadell says.
“The issue is very simple: who is sovereign in this country: the people or the ruling class?,” he asks.
