Admiral Mike Mullen on Meet The Press Sunday
Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, says the Obama Administration has a military plan to prevent Tehran from getting nuclear arms, but adds, “I hope we don’t get to that.”
Admiral Mullen made the statement Sunday on US political talk show Meet The Press, saying that while it is “unacceptable” for Iran to obtain nuclear weapons, he is also “extremely concerned” about the prospect of a military conflict with the Islamic nation.
Striking Iran could have “unintended consequences that are difficult to predict in what is an incredibly unstable part of the world,” Mullen said.
Admiral Mullen has previously said that a military strike on Iran would be “very, very destabilizing” to the region and advocates dialogue instead. He has made public statements to that effect going back to 2008.
As previously reported, the US shipped hundreds of bunker-busting bombs to Diego Garcia last March. The island, which has special hangars built for stealth bombers, was used during the 1991 and 2003 wars on Iraq. The US would need special permission from Britain to use them again for an attack on Iran.

Butcher1 is right. Barry O will never attack he does not have the “cajones”. He would not even protect this country from a direct attack. Say for example China suddenly gets the hankering for southern California real estate for some more environmental existence area, and launches an attack and occupies Orange county. Barry O would do nothing more than ask for a UN resolution condemning the action, and he wouldn’t even get that. If anybody attacks us we’re screwed. Just look at what happened in Arizona. He gave up the boarder to Mexico, by putting up billboards that say US citizens are not safe in the area. De facto surrender to Mexico. Why not China or any other despotic regime looking for EEA?
The plan to attack Iran has been waiting for years.
Let’s not forget that any enemy of Israel is an enemy of it’s puppet, The U.S.
