Oliver Stone
Leftist movie director Oliver Stone has apologized to Jewish groups for saying that the Jews own the media and American foreign policy in a recent interview.
“The Jewish domination of the media,” was Stone’s response when asked by the UK Sunday Times about why there is such a focus on the Holocaust. “There’s a major lobby in the United States. They are hard workers. They stay on top of every comment, the most powerful lobby in Washington. Israel has f***** up United States foreign policy for years.”
That question and comment were part of a larger discussion where Stone talked about his upcoming Showtime miniseries, The Secret History of America, where he claims to put Hitler and Stalin “in context.”
“Hitler was a Frankenstein but there was also a Dr Frankenstein. German industrialists, the Americans and the British. He had a lot of support,” Stone said. “Hitler did far more damage to the Russians than the Jewish people, 25 or 30 [million killed].”
The Sunday Times interview was given to promote Stone’s latest movie, a documentary about Venezuelan Communist dictator Hugo Chavez, who has been accused of persecuting Jews in his country and using anti-Semitism as a political tool.
This is not the first time Stone has said Israel controls American foreign policy, as seen in this recent appearance on Politically Incorrect:
Stone’s comments were blasted as anti-Semitic by many Jewish groups, including the ADL, the American-Jewish Committee, and The American Gathering of Holocaust Survivors and their Descendants.

“Oliver Stone has once again shown his conspiratorial colors with his comments about “Jewish domination of the media” and control over U.S. foreign policy. His words conjure up some of the most stereotypical and conspiratorial notions of undue Jewish power and influence,” ADL Director Abe Foxman said in a statement.
Stone has since apologized for making the comments.
“In trying to make a broader historical point about the range of atrocities the Germans committed against many people, I made a clumsy association about the Holocaust, for which I am sorry and I regret,” Stone said in a statement issued Monday afternoon.
“Jews obviously do not control media or any other industry,” Stone’s statement continued. “The fact that the Holocaust is still a very important, vivid and current matter today is, in fact, a great credit to the very hard work of a broad coalition of people committed to the remembrance of this atrocity – and it was an atrocity.”
