One of the accused murderers of AWB leader Eugene Terreblanche, Chris Mahlangu, has been granted a R5,000 (US $665) bail in the Ventersdorp Magistrate’s Court Wednesday.
State prosecutors opposed the bail, saying Mahlangu knew the names and addresses of his accusers and could intimidate them.
Magistrate Magaola Foso disagreed, saying Mahlangu co-operated with police and there was no likelihood he would try to evade his trial.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said Mahlangu would have to report to a local police station twice a day as part of his bail agreement.
Afrikanerfront chairperson Andries Breytenbach denounced the bail, saying such a small amount of money the judge required was a “provocation” to Afrikaners.
“Seen against the exceedingly high bail amounts recently granted to whites charged with violence against blacks, the decision demonstrates the fallacy of the ANC’s constitutionally guaranteed equal treatment of all citizens before the law,” Breytenbach said.
The murder trial starts November 22nd.

OFF TO ZIZBABWE!!
Obama will have him shipped here to be appointed to a Cabinet position.
He has a job working for Zuma’s daughter in the garden in Harare. Given a nice pay off for helping the ANC.
Welcome to African law.
This is the same NPA which cleared Zuma of fraud charges, saw how Shabir Shaik got parole for being terminally ill, etc. etc. Like the comment above rightly states – welcome to African "law"…
I’m shocked that they didn’t give him a medal!
