The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) has proposed that California should turn Neverland Ranch, the estate of dead pop star Michael Jackson, into a state-run park.
California NAACP president Alice Huffman has approached Assemblyman Mike Davis with the idea, saying it would bring in much-needed revenue to the cash-strapped state.
“I think Michael’s history is world history and I think it would become the No. 1 attraction for the state parks if we could pull it off,” Davis says.
Jackson signed his 2,500-acre estate to Colony Capital LLC in 2008 for US $35million to escape foreclosure. The company now runs the property with the Jackson family.
Estimates value the property at US $100 million.
Because California is in a US $19 billion deficit, Davis says it is unlikely the state would buy Neverland. Instead, he thinks a private-public partnership would be able to make the plan work.

Michael was not a homosexual and was definitely not a pedophile so before you type such ignorant things i suggest you reaserach and learn the facts.
Just what we need. A state park for homosexual pedophiles. I guess in California this is acceptable.
His house is a stupid waste of money. If you want to see something impressive, visit William Randolph Hearst's Castle, San Simeon, owned by the people of CA and well worth visiting. I don't care how he took it, his house is silly and ugly.
question: PETER, HOW DO YOU GET TO NEVERLAND?
answer: SECOND STAR TO THE RIGHT AND STRAIGHT ON TILL MORNING
If you answered that correctly, you have kids because nobody remembers that from childhood correctly.
If the NAACP really wants to help their own, they should knock down the homosexual pedophile's mansion/kid trap, and put up Section 8 housing. I give the area about 6 weeks before it's in complete shambles while the state goes into more debt funding social programs for non-contributors.
They can even use black labor to do the work, and black money to fund the project.
Oh wait, never mind.
