Eight more Republican Congressmen have signed onto an initiative introduced last week to pull Obamacare “out by the roots,” bringing its total support to 133.
The discharge petition introduced by Congressman Steve King (R-Iowa) immediately got the support of 103 Representatives, about half the number needed to bring it to a vote on the floor of Congress.
It states:
“Pursuant to clause 2 of rule XV, I, Steve King of Iowa, move to discharge the Committees on Energy and Commerce, Ways and Means, Education and Labor, the Judiciary, Natural Resources, Rules, House Administration and Appropriations from the consideration of the bill (H.R. 4972) to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which was referred to said committees on March 25, 2010, in support of which motion the undersigned Members of the House of Representatives! affix their signatures.”
Because House Speaker Nancy Pelosi fought so hard to get Obamacare passed, she would never allow the initiative to come to a vote in Congress, King told WND.com. But through a procedure known as discharge process, if 218 or more out of 435 Representatives sign on, a vote cannot be stopped, he said.
Repealing Obamacare would still need a Senate vote, which would bring it to Barack Obama’s desk, which he would then veto.
However, Congress can override a Presidential veto.
King is looking for every Republican Congressman who voted against Obamacare to sign on to his discharge petition. He also hopes Democrats who took issue with parts of the legislation to join in.

A good start.
Good timing. By November, there will be enough reps voted in to get it to a vote and get the ball rolling.
Now's time to start erasing this idiot's mistakes instead of making the next Pres. spend his whole term doing it.
