The doctor who got Lockerbie bomber Abdel Baset al-Megrahi an early release by saying he had only a few months left to live now says the convicted terrorist may live for at least 10 more years.
“There is always a chance that he would live for 10 years … but it’s very unusual,” specialist Karol Sikora told the UK’s Sunday Times.
“There was a 50 percent chance that he would die in three months,” Sikora added, “but there was also a 50 percent chance that he would live longer.”

Al-Megrahi was convicted of 270 counts of murder for masterminding the 1988 bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. He was released in 2009 on compassionate grounds after Sikora and other doctors said he had terminal prostate cancer and was only going to live for another 3 months.
The Sunday Times reports that Britain persuaded Scotland to issue the early release so Libya would agree to a lucrative oil drilling contract with British Petrolium (BP) worth billions.
UK Business Secretary Peter Mandelson flatly denied the Sunday Times claim, telling reporters “it’s not only wrong, it’s completely implausible and actually quite offensive.”
Sikora told the paper that it was “embarrassing that he’s [al-Megrahi] gone on for so long.”

Ah yes, Peter Mandelson who supported Labour's notion to spend the UK out of recession. The same Labour which allowed Muslim benefits-for-lifers to claim £104,000 per annum in housing benefit alone. This resulted in 16 average earning taxpayers required just to support such a family with housing benefit. Any person who can justify such madness doesn't get an opinion in my books, let alone the right to call something wrong or offensive.

They must have taken a page out the book of their communist friends in the ANC – Shabir Shaik was also convicted and got early parole for being "terminally ill."
