A member of the Saudi Royal Family has flatly denied previous reports that the country would allow Israeli bombers to fly through its airspace during a possible strike against Iranian nuclear facilities.
Allowing Israel such permission “would be against the policy adopted and followed by the Kingdom,” Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf told the London-based Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat.
The previous report came from the UK Times, which quoted an anonymous American defense source, and said the Saudis had already done tests to make sure their jets were not scrambled when the Israeli planes were on their bombing raid.
Prince bin Nawaf called it “illogical to allow the Israeli occupying force, with whom Saudi Arabia has no relations whatsoever, to use its land and airspace.”
