The ex-wife of Nelson Mandela prompted outrage last March after she said the former South African president has “let Blacks down.”
Winnie Madikizela-Mandela told British newspaper The Evening Standard that she could not forgive her ex-husband for accepting the Nobel Peace Prize with former South African president F.W. DeKlerk 1993.
It was DeKlerk who released Mandela from prison in 1990 and called for the first multi-racial elections in South Africa, which put Mandela and the ANC into power.
“He [Mandela] agreed to a bad deal for the Blacks,” Madikizela-Mandela said. “Economically, we are still on the outside. The economy is very much ‘White.’ It has a few token Blacks, but so many who gave their life in the struggle have died unrewarded.”
The Mandelas divorced in 1996 after Nelson accused Winnie of marital infidelity.
Winnie Madikizela-Mandela bowed out of recreating the famous walk from the former Victor Verster prison, which was to mark the 20th anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s release. Madikizela-Mandela claimed at the time she was “too exhausted” to march.

I agree. Nelson never necklaced anyone.
The ANC and their corrupt cops all belong in jail. South Africa has turned into a third world country when the k—rs took control. Usually the black cops are so corrupt, or engaging in such serious crimes, the ANC has no choice but to lock them up.
The ANC is 99.9% black.
There is genocide of whites in South Africa by the ANC, and the rest of the world will do nothing about it.
Marital infidelity? With whom? Zuma?
The long walk to freedom with which Nelson Mandela won and completed can’t be done by anyone who easily gives up when faced with even the smallest struggles in life…..I for one salute Nelson for his courage and tireless efforts that enable him to win the fight of brutal unequality and racisim.
I strongly believe that his decision to leave his wife was for his own good and with that I say no one has the right to criticise him with his decision to devorce winnie….for he is the one living with her thus knew more about her than anyone…so you biased commentors stop being rude with your comments….just mind your own damn business..!!!
