17-year-old Anika Smit was raped, her throat slashed 16 times and her hands hacked off and removed from the scene. Anika, an Afrikaner, was from Pretoria.

Alice Lotter, 77, and her daughter Helen, 57, were killed by glass shards stabbed into their vaginas; left to bleed to death, one woman’s breasts were cut off while she was alive; both also had stabbing wounds and they were half-torched. Forensic experts also established that their blood was used to write an anti-Afrikaner hate-speech slogan on the wall of their home.

An 89 year old woman and her son were battered to death in their home in Christopher Street, Margate Extension Three.

John Barret (59) and his Mother Margaret are believed to have been killed last Saturday. The grisly discovery was made by friends living nearby. Police spokeswoman L-C Zandra Wiid said when police arrived they found a puddle of blood outside the house. Upon further investigation Mr. Barret’s body was found behind the garage and his Mother was found on the opposite side of the house lying in a pool of blood in the courtyard. The house had been ransacked.
No one has been arrested.
