Eugene Terreblanche, 1941-2010
Eugene Terreblanche, leader of the South African far-right group AWB (Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging) was found murdered on his Ventersdorp in the North West on Saturday evening. He was 69.
AWB spokesman André Visagie reports Terreblanche was found in his bed, beaten with pipes and hacked with a machete while he slept at approximately 18:00 South African time.
He was still alive at the time but died an hour later.
Police arrested two Black farm workers, a 16-year-old and 21-year-old, who apparently had gotten into an argument with Terreblanche earlier in the day.
He was also alone on his farm named Villana, or “the home of Anna”. Visagie said that Terre’blanche’s only security were his dogs which were “neutralized”.
Visagie said Terre’blanche was beaten so badly “he didn’t look like Eugene anymore”.
For many, Eugene Terreblanche defined what it is to be a “Boer”. It was his life’s goal to reclaim the Boer Republics, the Transvaal and Orange Free State.
Terreblanche’s murder comes at a time when a South African high court has banned public singing of the ANC battle song, “Kill the Boer,” for its incitement of violence against a specific ethnic group. ANCYL leader Julius Malema may still face hate speech charges for his recent leading of a group of students in singing the song.

Our leader, Eugene Terre’Blanche murdered on his farm
It is with shock, dismay, frustration and the greatest of emotional pain that we were informed that our leader, Eugene Terre’Blanche was murdered on his farm Villanna (meaning “Home of Anna”) just outside Ventersdorp called around 17:00 this afternoon.
Details are sketchy, but from reports by people at the scene there was an argument with one of his black farm workers this afternoon. Later, while he was taking an afternoon nap, the farm worker, incited by others, entered his house and hacked him to death with a panga (chopping knife used for clearing bushes).
When police arrived they found our leader on his bed with mortal wounds to his upper body and head. He was declared dead at 7:00pm.
This news comes amidst reports of Julius Malema’s banned song which calls for freedom fighters of the ANC to “Kill the Boer”.
Our leader did not live permanently on the farm, but rather in Ventersdorp. He visits the farm regularly during the week and on weekends.
Eugene Ney Terre’Blance was born on January 31 1941 and was on of the founders of the Afrikaner Weerstadsbeweging. He dedicated the last decades to realising a dream of freedom for our Boer people and the concept of a Volkstaat, a free state where we could rule over ourselves.
We call on all our supporters, friends and members of the AWB to be calm for now as we mourn the passing of our leader.

My friends. You have not been a pupil at an apartheid school. It was the humiliation. The old books, the less than adequate facilities and limited resources, it was not as good as you guys had it. Indians finished school, went to london or where ever, got degrees and returned. We had money to do this, blacks did not.
I guess they burned down schools because it was felt that it was government property, who knows. There was lots of anger back then. I remember, it was hell. The police were bastards. We would arrange a study group in a nearby park. Riot police world drive past and beat us senseless for no reason. We could not say anything or be loaded in the back of the van and never seen again, would you like your kids to go through this?
The humiliation. Once, the white inspectors were visiting the school. They seperated the muslim pupils and made them sing jewish prayers. They stood there are laughed at them. I remember that moment like it was yesterday, i remember the teacher, also muslim, was crying, he too could do nothing. This was rape too, it was white guys raping a bunch of children.
If people got so upset that it made them burn down a school, as weird as it is to admit, i understand. I was there, a human can only be pushed to a limit before silly thoughts start making sense.
Thinking about that time is making me very sad and angry.

I once saved a girl while a pig was tearing her clothes off. She was on her way home from school. It happened on a field about 200m from where i live. When i stopped my car he ran off. The cops caught him. I went to court to testify against him and he was found guilty. I promise you, had i owned a gun i would not have hesitated, they deserve no mercy.

Farm murders should stop. Period. I do not condone it. A neighbour of mine (during apartheid, we were all bunched together back then) owned a farm. One day he came home with an automatic rifle. I was naturally shocked to see this, when i asked him he produced a licence.
He apparantly motivated his app by saying he owns a farm. My question is, why would that be sufficient reason for him to own such a powerful weapon? Was this problem in existence before the fall of apartheid?
I am of the opinion that it is not necessarily political and more criminal. I think criminals are opportunistic and will seize where it presents itself. It does not make it right though and its just my opinion.
A farm is isolated, there is money, firearms, jewellery etc and no one can see what is happening from the street.
Question 6, affirmative action.
Under apartheid whites had all the good jobs, tenders, contracts, finance, opportunity, education and and and. We got crumbs and had to be grateful. It was really bad.
We could only live in indian areas where a house cost more or less what a white person would pay in a white area. The difference is that whites plots were 3 times bigger, better roads,views etc etc etc.
The properties in the white suburbs have increased in value substantially compared to a property in an indian area, more than 5 times as much which means a hell of a lot more money. The white person retires, sells this house and dies, leaving a small fortune for his kids.
If it was not for affirmative action, i would not be sitting on a balcony smoking a R100 cuban cigar. I earned this. Its my right to make money from hard work and no one gave me a drol.
It is justified. I cannot say how long it should run but i think it should cover one generation. In other words, for someone born in 94 with equal opportunity, when his kids start benefiting it should stop. Its only fair.

Look, indian ppl have always worked hard. We are in our shops, practices, surgerys and offices night and day trying to make money.
Nobody can say they have been robbed, raped, assaulted by indian ppl, its not in our nature. We just want the opportunity to make money and educate ourselves. We dont steal from others, we dont even take part in sports except cricket.
Indians in south africa and i think the world can claim the highest level of education, wealthiest, lowest rate of sexually transmitted diseases, and lowest level of convictions per capita than any population group. This cannot be disputed.

In the Apartheids era there have never been more than 3000 thousand blacks killed…the Farm murders are currently at about 3365, that is just Farm murders alone excluding all other white murders. Statistics show in mid-2009 that there were 79.7% blacks and 9.7% whites in South Africa. The average murder rate is 28,000 people a year. There is a joke that portrays the situation in S.A, "A man get`s fined R1000 for not having a t.v license but a murder suspect get`s R500 bail…So rather kill the t.v license inspector."
