Democratic Party Congressman Phil Hare is scrambling to explain himself after being videotaped saying “I don’t care about the Constitution” during a Q & A session on health care reform with constituents.
The contentious exchange happened during a stop the Illinois Congressman made in Quincy to answer citizens’ questions about the newly-passed Obamacare legislation.

Bobby Schilling, Rep. Hare’s Republican opponent in the upcoming election, described the congressman’s comments on the Constitution as “despicable and foolish” in a news release sent out this morning.
“This statement is outrageous and ridiculous,” Mr. Schilling is quoted as saying in the release. “What is really sad is that this mindset is typical of many representatives in Congress. This explains why Congress is out of control. The Constitution is a protection set up for the people against a tyrant government. It has kept the United States stable for almost 250 years. When we go to Congress we will reign in this tyrant government and get it back to following and believing in the Constitution.”
Neither Congressman Hare nor his publicist have yet released a press statement on the incident.

"I, state your name, do solemnly swear to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign or domestic." This is the beginning line of virtually every U.S. federal or military oath of office/enlistment. Guess he didn't mean it. How about his constituents do us all a favor in November and let someone else have a whack at actually meaning it.
So what he is saying is that he was insincere when he took his oath of office since he had to swear to protect the constitution. I believe that alone should invalidate him from continuing in the office.

Have you ever been to an event that had no pre-planning? What was it like? Chaotic, confusing, aggravating, etc, etc? That is exactly what the USA will be like if the Constitution is abolished.
Your type has been bashing everything that has been tried and true because you are not happy (feeling) and want to bitch and complain about everything without offering viable solutions.
Now you say the the CONSTITUTION is outdated and needs to be thrown out. The PLAN that our founding fathers crafted for AMERICA. What exactly are you thinking? Do you think that your life will be better without it? What if the country falls to tyranny and every aspect of your life is controlled by a governing body? Is that what you want?
You may say yes now, but if history serves, you be right back to complaining again in a short order and wanting more CHANGE. Or maybe, you will mature and realize that well-planned incremental revisions to the existing plan will benefit the county and the people.
If you believe that what is going on is what you voted for and how you want to live, then you are in the wrong country…buy a plane ticket and get your bitchy/no-solution ass out of MY AMERICA!
None of them that voted YES cares about the Constitution. They put “Party” above freedom, individual choice, and honor. How anybody can think having the Federal Government “madate” you buy a product or service from a for profit corporation is beyond me. What a disgusting precedent! This is much more than just about health care folks.
