Eric Massa
New York Democrat Congressman Eric Massa has resigned from his office, admitting he made sexual overtures to a male staff member.
“I am guilty,” Massa said when asked by a Corning, New York, newspaper columnist.
Later that day, Massa released a statement that he had a recurrence of cancer and would be resigning from his office. He also acknowledged an ethics complaint was filed against him by the male staffer, who felt “uncomfortable” during an exchange with Massa.
“During long car rides, in the early hours of the evening, late at night and always in private, I know that my own language failed to meet the standards that I set,” Massa wrote.
Massa throws in the towel
“There is no doubt in my mind that I did in fact, use language in the privacy of my own home and in my inner office that, after 24 years in the Navy, might make a Chief Petty Officer feel uncomfortable,” Massa added. “In fact, there is no doubt that this ethics issue is my fault and mine alone.”
Earlier Friday, a visibly upset Massa said he didn’t want to put his family through the rigors of an ethics committee investigation.
“It would tear us apart,” Massa said, according to Joe Dunning, a columnist for The Leader newspaper. “It’s not that I can fight or beat these allegations, I’m guilty.”
Massa will resign from his position as Congressman from New York’s 28th Congressional District, which has been dominated by Republicans since 1854, effective Monday.

Remember Republican Florida Congressman Mark Foley? Well, a few years ago, he was hounded day and night for weeks in the Left-Wing/Marxist media for sending sexually explicit e-mails to staffers before he finally resigned. What he did wasn't even close to what DEMOCRAT Congressman Eric Massa is accused of, yet the Left-Wing/Marxist media is as silent with this Democrat scandal as they are with all of the other Democrat scandals plaguing Congress.
The soft pedal way then Speaker Hastert handled the Foley outrage, (to avoid the impression among homosexuals that the Republican Party was hostile to them), was part of the reason the conservative faithful didn't have their hearts into the following Congressional elections.
Foley should have been squashed like a bug by the Republican leadership, at least showing that there is a difference between the two parties in how they view predation on adolescents by the sub cult of homosexuals who feel it is their right to do so.
Is Massa being set up by the Obamunist regime? He says he wont vote for the health care bill they are trying to ram down our throats. It’s not inconceivable that this regime would do something like this to one of their own.
It is nothing new. The Capitol has always been a cesspool. Back in 1957 a girl I knew went to DC to work in the secretarial pool in the Capitol. She was home in 3 months. She said “I am not the most attractive girl and I know it. But I got so sick of fighting off the old goats from the House and the Senate! They were after all of us, and the ones who were not after the girls were after the boys! DC is a dangerous place to work!” In all these years, it has not gotten cleaned up.
