RSA Flag Banned At World Cup

Banned from World Cup

The mayor of Cape Town has banned public displays of the old Republic of South Africa flag during the 2012 World Cup Games, due to associations the banner has with Apartheid.

Cape Town mayor Dan Plato said displays of the RSA flag at sporting events after being replaced by the “new” South Africa flag in 1994 had “caused some embarrassment.”

“We don’t want that same embarrassment to take place here,” Plato told a news conference.

“We want rather to say to people, the old South African flag is not a recognised national flag any more and we don’t want people unnecessarily to embarrass South Africa and to embarrass Cape Town,” he said.

“Let us rather be patriotic and act as good patriots of the country.”

Fifa organizers took a cool stance at the decision, saying each host city was allowed to make their own decisions on such issues.

“It was the decision of the city to impose such regulation and I am not aware if others cities are doing the same,” said spokesman for the local organizing committee Rich Mkhondo.

It is not illegal to display the RSA flag, but an attempt at passing legislation to ban it was tried back in 2006. That move failed in parliament. Another attempt was tried in 2009 that went absolutely nowhere.

Good, that flag has no rights any longer.

It has as much right to live as you idiots do. The constitution of South Africa states that the flag has as much rights as the new flag. At least the old flag is not made up of ANC colours. SA is not banning the flag, just the organisers of the world cup. All this does, is make more people want to fly it, and good on them. I will fly it just to get up the backs of these twats.

Well Dan, I would love to see you try taking my flag. Better leave them fancy chains at home though…

There is just too much irony here because first of all the flag was adopted long before the Grand Apartheid / Separate Development laws of the old National Party government. I realize that it got “associated” with Apartheid but this is rather like saying that the Stars & Stripes got “associated” with Prohibition. Further irony is the fact that the Afrikaner Nationalists always wanted a new flag because this particular flag was the flag they simply inherited from the Union of South Africa as the Republic of South Africa never adopted its own proper flag. Verwoerd even signed off on a proposal for a new flag design to be implemented on Republic Day 1971 but his plan was abandoned after he was assassinated & his successor Vorster did not want to re-open the acrimonious flag debate as it threatened to split the State apart back in 1927 during the adoption of this now old flag. What is even more ironic is that this flag was not too popular among the actual Boer people as they tend to prefer their old Vierkleur / Boer Republican flags. This flag appears to getting more popular in recent years because it was only ever a flag used by the State prior. The flag of the previous dispensation appears to be getting more popular over time among White people in general particularly because things are getting worse for them in the current dispensation. Though it should be pointed out that hard core Boer Patriots will never accept this old flag [ let alone the new flag ] as they view it as part of the alien domination they are under. This flag was carried in battle during WWI and WWII, the Border wars against Communism. Millions of brave patriots died defending their country's freedom from alien invasions.

This flag was born 1910 when all the Provinces were united as one Union of South Africa.

The credo was "Eendrag maak macht." Unity is strength.

This flag stirs the blood of middle aged Saffers.

Now the whites are dying again in silent ethnic cleaning. Farmers are the main target silent genocidal targets.
