The Mossad as grown to unprecedented popularity in Israel as a Dubai probe into the assassination of a Palestinian militant, allegedly conducted by the Israeli spy agency, widens.
Dubai police chief Dahi Khalfan Tamim revealed February 18 that a Mossad cell of 11 agents suffocated Hamas commander Mahmoud al-Mabhouh to death in his Dubai luxury hotel room last January.
The revelation sparked international outrage after it was also discovered the cell used forged passports from Great Britain, Ireland, France, and Germany. Investigators doubled the number of fake British passports to 12 Friday, and added another 15 suspects to their wanted list. There are now 26 Israeli spies wanted for the plot, which also now includes passports from Australia.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd is not happy with the explanation given to him by its Iraeli envoy about the use of passports forged from dual Israel-Australian citizens. Rudd is quoted as saying his government had to “proceed very carefully” in the investigation because of its complex security nature.
Investigators from Britain’s Serious Organized Crimes Agency have arrived in Israel to interview the six British-Israeli dual nationals whose names were used on forged passports.
But despite all the blustery, diplomatic rhetoric, a growing perception has come that European nations linked to the plot are in no rush to find the alleged killers. Authorities in Switzerland, Italy, France, Germany and the Netherlands have either declined to say whether they are investigating, or told The Associated Press they have no reason to hunt down the 26 suspects.
“I would guess that it’s in the political interest of certain countries not to get proactive in this case,” said Victor Mauer, deputy director of the Center for Security Studies at Zurich’s Federal Institute of Technology.
“Countries such as Germany have a special relationship with Israel because of their history and therefore wouldn’t be interested in investigating,” he said.
Dubai Police Chief Dahi Khalfan Tamim said on the Arab satellite television Al-Arabiya that investigators now have DNA evidence from at least one of the alleged assassins, giving “100 percent proof” that the Mossad carried out the killing.
Meanwhile, news of the assassination plot has sparked “Mossad Mania” in Israel. Hits to the organization’s website have shot through the roof since then, with many applying to work for the spy agency. Memorabilia, such as t-shirts bearing the Mossad logo, and the eyeglasses worn by 14 of the 26 alleged assassins, have sold out across the Jewish state.
“Mossad has been restored to its glory days,” said former Mossad deputy director Ilan Mizrahi.

DARE I say it?? OH yes I do dare–KUDOS TO THE MOSSAD! Something–Someone–has to take action against the evil forces behind the ideology of Islam. They want Israel—the "little Satan" and the USA-the "great Satan" destroyed…Only Israel has the gonads to go for it! The pretender that sits in America's oval office is just that-an American citizen PRETENDER.
althought my post has nothing to do with this story, i just want to point out a FACT
in what a difference between what happened in Chile yesterday and Haiti one month ago.
ive been watching the news all day and have yet to see one scene of rioting, violence, rapes or murders out of chile. i guess the Chileans are what Americans would call a different breed of cat….
And on that note…
How many riots in New York 9/11?
And how many due to Hurrican Katrina?
New Zealand was hit by an earthquake of about 7.6 (as far as I remember) on the Richterscale the other day. No riots there either. And no celebrities necessary, thank you very much!
If only this guy had hired Rudy Giuliani's security firm the way other Hamas leaders have, he would probably be alive today:

"Giuliani's presence that weekend wasn't noted in news coverage at the time, even though his firm had apparently provided security advice for an event that included Ahmadinejad, whose country Giuliani has since promised to "set back five years" should it pursue its nuclear program. Ahmadinejad was later assailed by opponents in his own country for watching a female song-and-dance show that was part of the opening extravaganza. The presence of Hamas's Haniyeh, who attended private meetings with the emir while Giuliani was in Qatar, might also have been embarrassing to Giuliani, since Qatar agreed to pay $22.5 million a month to cover the salaries of 40,000 Palestinian teachers, as well as to create a bank in the territories with a $50 million initial deposit."
Dubai Police Chief Dahi Khalfan Tamim said [...] investigators now have DNA evidence from [...] the alleged assassins, giving “100 percent proof” that the Mossad carried out the killing.
That just proves he's lying.
First of all, what did they compare those DNA samples with?
Second, he clearly hasn't ever watched Law & Order or CSI or Judge Hatchett etc. lol. There's no such thing as 100% proof. They always say stuff like "there is a 3 million against 1 chance that Mr X is the father" or "it's a 99.99% match" or whatever. You know what I mean.
Take it with a pinch of salt. No doubt they're indulging in some taqiyya ("holy deception").
At least Mossad doesn't fly planes into buildings, killing thousands or slaughter millions of Hindus in India (Hindu Kush).
