German authorities have stopped a month-long investigation into who built a snowman with an uncanny resemblance to Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.
The probe was launched after a group of anti-fascists filed a complaint about the snowman, which was found outside a Schorndorf pub, near the southern city of Stuttgart.
German law forbids the use of nazi symbols or the promotion of National Socialism.
Unable to find the culprit, and the evidence having melted away, the case has been dropped.
“Not every likeness of Hitler is a forbidden symbol,” the spokesperson, Claudia Krauth, told the German Press Agency dpa.

Couldn’t it have been Charlie Chaplin?
“Not every likeness of Hitler is a forbidden symbol” she says…My question is with a man with such deep seated evil beliefs grown in the poisonous soil of bitterness and occultism/aka Marxism etc.. my question to her is …Why the hell NOT?
They’ll investigate kids building snowmen that look like Hitler, but Germany allows tens of thousands of muslims who immigrate from the Third-World every year who are hell-bent on plotting mass murder against the Infidels in their midst.
Go figure! That;s why Europe is lost.
Wanda,
Hitler fought AGAINST the Marxist, Bolshevik Communist FAKE ‘Jews’!
Learn your history and get it straight!
As for the police hunting for whoever made that snowman… please tell me this is a joke! What are they going to do when ‘Mein Kampf’ is re-released? Arrest everyone that buys it?
Oh Mein Fuhrer, wht have they done to you?
I’m gonna build a snowman like Hal Turner?
@Phil: If you’re gonna build a snowman like Hal Turner, you’ll only need one snowball.
Fascism is coming to the West disguised as anti-fascism.
Not enough snow for Herrman Georing!
Did anyone notice it was built outside a pub?
Boondock Saint, you need to learn YOUR history. Hitler was indeed infatuated with Marxism (and the occult). Even the name “Nazi” comes from “National Socialist” party. Hitler allied with Stalin to divide up Poland via the Ribbentrop Pact. Only later did Hitler attack the USSR. Hitler and Marxism had far more in common with each other than either did with liberal democracy.
@Flag: Probably a bunch of drunken beirmeisters having a laugh built it.
Mein Kampf is *already* banned in Germany
@ “JFK”
The term “nazi” was created by British-American opponents to mock National Socialism.
There are two types of socialism – International Socialism, which looks to destroy nations in order to make way for International Communism, and National Socialism, which put the people of the nation first and enforce national sovereignty.
My Dear Boonndock Saint, Mein Kampf is indeed illegal in Germany.
Hitler did fight Communists and many Marxists, and also many fascists. He was, however, an admirer of much of Marx (especially the bit about truth being whatever suits the cause) and I think that is what Wanda was trying to get at. He doubled down on the anti-Marxist thing when Stalin calling him a right wing deviationist (as opposed to Trotsky, a left wing deviationist) at the Third Internationalle made him politically less toxic in Germany’s frighteningly bitter inter-war polical scene.
