Great Britain and several European nations are pressing for answers from Israel, after it was revealed that a Mossad hit-squad used forged passports from their countries in an operation that killed a militant Palestinian last month.
Dubai police chief Dahi Khalfan Tamim told reporters he is “99 percent sure” Israel was involved in the January 20th killing of Hamas commander Mahmoud al-Mabhouh at a Dubai luxury hotel.
The Dubai police investigation has uncovered footage from CCTV cameras showing the Mossad cell changing costumes and tailing al-Mabhouh in the Bustan Rotana hotel. They also have retina scans of the 11 suspects, a procedure routinely done on people entering the country.
Investigators initially did not suspect murder. “It was meant to look like death from natural causes during sleep,” said Dubai police coroner Fawzi Benomran. His team later determined that al-Mabhough was murdered as the result of “suffocation by smothering, most probably by occluding the external airways using a soft object, most probably a pillow.”
The Mossad cell allegedly consisted of eleven agents, including one female, and used forged passports from the UK, Ireland, Germany, and France. Although the passports appear legitimate, with authentic serial numbers, the signatures and faces do not match up with those in the respective countries’ databases.
The men whose names appeared on the UK passports have dual British and Israeli citizenship. The real owners of the passports deny any involvement in al-Mabhouh’s murder.
Two Palestinians associated with Hamas rival Fatah have been arrested in the Jordanian capital Amman. Ahmad Hasnin, a Palestinian intelligence operative, and Anwar Shekhaiber, an employee of the Palestinian Authority in Ramallahand have been extradited back to Dubai.
A third man, Hamas security operative Nahro Massoud, is under arrest in Syria on suspicion of having assisted the hit squad.
Hamas politburo chief Khaled Meshal has denied the allegation, according to the report, saying “It is not correct at all”.
But Palestinian sources insisted Massoud was being questioned amid speculation that potentially senior Palestinian defectors may have been involved in the plot.
An unnamed Dubai official said on Thursday that the investigation has now widened, with police seeking a further seven members of the assassination team – making 18 in all.
Dubai police also identified Austria as the “command center” for the assassins, after mobile phone data showed at least seven numbers originating there. They also speculate cell members communicated using “encrypted” messages, and that contact was maintained via several Austrian mobile phone Sim cards.
Austria has confirmed its officials are investigating the claims.
The British Foreign Secretary, David Millibrand, said he expected Israel to operate fully with its inquiry into the case, after British officials met the Israeli Ambassador at The Foreign Office to express their concern.
France and Ireland have taken similar steps.
Interpol has put a “red notice” on the suspects, publishing their names and photographs for arrest and extradition.
Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said Wednesday there was no evidence tying the killing to Mossad but added that Israel pursues a policy of “ambiguity” on security operations to keep its enemies off guard.

AND, if Mossad DID assassinate that terrorist motherfucker, then good for them!
And, it’s business-as-usual for Britain and those other wimp Europeans to bend over backwards to kiss the muslim ass. Those countries have already been taken over by the 7th century savages who’ve transformed them into islamic, Third-World shitholes.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
