Most Americans Say Palin Unqualified For Prez

Sarah Palin at last weekend's Tea Party convention

More than half the nation – 55% – see Sarah Palin unfavorably, and 71% believe the Going Rogue author is not qualified to be President, according to an ABC News/Washington Post poll Thursday.

The former Alaska governor and GOP Vice Presidential candidate recently said is “willing” to consider a run for the White House, but both those numbers are new lows for her and don’t augur well for a national political run.

Palin shot a devastating blow to those chances last week at a Tea Party convention in Nashville, Tenn., when she blatantly referred to crib notes written on her hand during a question-and-answer session that followed her keynote speech to the conservative group.

“More problematic for Palin is that even in her own party 52% think she’s not qualified for the presidency – up by 16 points from an ABC/Post poll in November,” writes ABC News pollster Gary Langer.

The Tea Party movement faces its own challenges, with negatives at 40% versus a 35% positive rating. But Langer sees some hope for the anti-government, anti-tax, anti-health reform movement. “Forty-five percent agree at least somewhat with the movement’s positions on the issues – more than the 36% who disagree,” Langer writes.

The poll was conducted Feb. 4-8 and had a 3.5 percentage point margin of error.

BTW, the headline left something important out…most REPUBLICANS don't think she is qualified either! Maybe there is hope for the GOP yet…

I am not surprised at the number. The press has been doing a character assassination job on her for years. Remember the Olinsky method, freeze the target, personalize it, et al.
She is still more qualified than the Kenyan.

    Joe,

No offense but she assassinated her own character when should could not answer simple questions. These were not “gotcha” questions either…What newspapers or magazines do you read…All of them! She further hurt her chances by quitting half way through her 1st term leaving Alaska worse than she started amidst charges of unethical behavior. She was for the “bridge to nowhere” before she was against it. Palin was a terrible choice to be the GOP VP candidate and is certainly not qualified to be POTUS.

She was was caught on camera glancing at a “cheat sheet” written on her palm while answering questions at the Tea Party convention this week. It’s clear Palin wants to capitalize on the Tea Party’s growing influence within the GOP in the hopes of making a presidential bid in 2012. Palin had just concluded a speech attacking President Obama including his alleged reliance on a teleprompter. This irony has not gone unnoticed by the American people who once again see an uninformed demagogue not ready for prime time.

She’s hot. Who cares. Se can rule me anytime.

  5. Aryan says

Hmmm, I wonder whether she isn’t a Trojan Filly as I don’t trust any candidate of either one of the two main parties anymore. They’ve all been infiltrated and compromised by the Kenites and the dumb sheeple seem to want it that way.

    Newt for President 2012!

Take it from where it comes. These are the same brain-dead assholes who were manipulated by the Left-Wing media, and the same Liberal/Marxist militants who elected Barack “The Magic Negro” Obama president. Since then, our eonomy is in its death-throes, our Capitalist society is turning into a Socialist nightmare as our industries are taken over by the government, our health-care system is about to be gutted and services will be rationed by the state, the unemployment rate (about 17% when you take into account those whose benefits have run out and are no longer looking for a job) rivals that of the Great Depression, the terrorists are read their Miranda Rights and get “lawyered-up”, we’re about to be hit with the biggest tax hikes in world history, etc…

So, the polls speak volumes about the intelligence of the American people, and where our once-great country is headed.

  8. Steve says

No one else is qualified either. With the attacks from both liberals and conservatives, no one can stand up to being a Republican candidate. She’s on our side in what we believe, so we should stand behind her.

  9. Get A Grip says

personal attacks on that level will not be tolerated.> -Admin.

You think unemployment is bad now, had we elected McCain we’d be in a great depression.
Even had wanted to do something he would have never gotten anything passed in a democratic controlled congress. Neither side is cooperating with the other and this our true problem. We need to split up the political parties they are doing nothing but tearing up our country and our true enemies. Not some mythical “Marxists”.

    @Get A Gripe

You vomited: ” Neither side is cooperating with the other and this our true problem.”

Uhhhhhh, The Democraps/Marxists had supermajorities in both houses of Congress until they lost Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat (may he rest in piss).

The Democraps/Marxists did not want any cooperation from Republicans.

The Denocraps/Marxists shut out any Republican input on every single Marxist issue they were ramming down our throats.

Even with the Democrap/Marxist supermajorities, they STILL couldn’t pass jack-shit.

So please refrain from re-writing history and blaming the Republicans for the gridlock in Congress. There is a major battle going on within the Democrap/Marxist Party.

All you’re doing is regurgitating the Liberal/Marxist talking points about Republican obstructionism. Put the blame where it belongs….with the Democraps/Marxists.
