Palin Used Hand To Prompt Her At Tea Party

Former Alaska Governor and GOP Vice President candidate Sarah Palin referred to notes scribbled on her hand during a Question-and-Answer session following Saturday’s keynote speech to the Tea Party Convention, eagle-eyed observers note.

The fact that Palin had to refer to crib notes on hand is especially ironic, after she jokingly criticized Barack Obama for his use of a teleprompter to give speeches. The vast majority of modern-day politicians use teleprompters when addressing an audience.

A close-up shot of Palin’s hand shows the words “energy,” “tax,” and “lift American spirits” written. The word “budget” was written and then crossed out, and “cut” is next to the retracted word.

While the notes were apparently not used during her speech, Palin did use them during the Q&A session, and appear to highlight general concepts she supports.

Palin's crib notes were clearly visible during her Tea Party keynote speech.

The TOTUS (teleprompter of the U.S.) will have some witty comment for the POTUS to use in the next "Look at me, I'm one hell of a orator" speech. Leftist hypocrisy – Alive and well. Teleprompter good, hand bad. Unga bunga!

  2. MMM says

Why is anyone suprised by this? This lady is an absolute JOKE and anyone who even begins to take her seriously really has no clue how your political "parties" select, package, and stuff a pretty face into the media as someone with a brain. It is a farce! Hopey changey? Come on! If you're not disgusted by her you don't mind being talked to like a child. Wake up people!!!!!!

  3. Obvious says

Writing notes on her hand is probably how she finally managed to get through college.

  4. mudrake says

Well, Endgame, there were no teleprompters during Obama's session with the Republicans at their 'retreat' and the mastery of detail that Obama demonstrated clearly blows a large hole in your ASSumption.

  5. Seth says

That "TOTUS" took it to the entire GOP caucus without a teleprompter. He went into the lions den without a teleprompter, script, cheat notes or any idea what was going to be asked and dominated the entire GOP House caucus and thats a fact! Palin can't answer simple questions about what she reads let alone run this country. It's no surprise that her supporters can't see the hypocrisy in needing notes on her hand in the same speech she unfairly attacks Obama about the lie that he needs a teleprompter. Palin couldn't even fulfill her obligations to her state and quit half way through her term…to do this? To make 100K regurgitating platitudes and lies to her rabid sycophants? This was DOA on the national scene and only a tiny majority of people are fooled by her "folksy" charm.

Funny you should call this "Leftist hypocrisy". Up is down, black is white, and dumb as a post is your choice for the next leader of your party.

  7. JJJ says

She shouldn't criticize anyone if she can't learn simple talking points on here own. Face it, she's a sham! Someone give her a morning talk show and let's be done with the psuedo-politican. Someone who quits her job anyway.. She has no credibility.

  8. John says

This just makes her more endearing. It’s great to see a politician focussing in this way rather than using a nauseating teleprompter. Wish UK politicians were as spontaneous.

  9. red says

You Endgame you mouth breathing moron they all use teleprompters duh!

  10. Endgame says

I love Palin. Not because she should be President, but for the simple reason that it shows libtards exactly how it feels to see someone gaining support when they are completely unqualified for the office. Just like little Barry from Chi-town.

  11. frsbdg says

She tried memorizing the answers to the questions, but it was hard work so she quit.

Oh, and John: it might make her more endearing to morons. But an honest person would have just carried some notes onstage, rather than: 1) write it on her hand; 2) glance at it during the Q&A; and 3) hope her audience was too stupid to notice.

For me the issue is that this showed that Sarah was given the questions in advance and even with having the questions in advance she had to refer to her cheat sheet on her hand. So Obama goes over an hour taking tough questions from the Republicans and Sarah needs to have a cheat sheet for the simple questions that she was given by Fox Network in advance – and tried to cover up the fact that she was given the questions in advance.

Additionally – Sarah likes to talk about Obama’s relying on teleprompters. It is true that Obama uses teleprompters for his speeches. Sarah reads from her script. What is the difference other then Sarah is far behind the times in using technology. How does this compare with trying to get away with having cheat sheet notes in her hand?

Note that the number one focus of her speechs and in answering questions is that she refers to the constitution and returing America to the Constitution and how the Obama adminstration does not follow the Constitution. Amazing that she doesn’t refer to the specifics of the consititution. Interesting that Sarah talks down to Obama on the constitution. Lets see – Obama was a part time lecturer/Constitutional Law Professor for 12 years at the University of Chicago. What exactly are Sarah’s qualifications in constitutional law? What do you think would happen if Palin and Obama were each given the same closed book test on the constitution. By the way – how is that people like Palin treat the Constitution like it was an infallible document that she seems to worship. For 211 years after the Constitution women were not allowed to vote – meaning that 90 years ago Sarah and other women would not have been allowed to vote or run for office. It took 78 years from the original Constitution before slaves were freed and 83 years from the original constitution before black males were given the right to vote.

What kind of bullshit is this story? How many people give public speeches without some kind of notes, or a teleprompter? Does anyone really believe that these answers are all off the cuff? No one goes into an arena like this not knowing the questions in advance. That would be suicidal. So she thought out what she wanted to say in advance. Why is this a reason to be critical? If she had flubbed her answers, we’d be seeing that posted here instead. For heavens sake, let’s stop ripping conservatives and start saving the animosity for the left, which deserves it.

  15. chuck says

reffering to notes is not a bad things. it helps insure that the speaker doesn’t leave out any keys points. go Sarah!!! we love you , you betcha.

  16. ruthven78 says

6 words is a FAR cry from a teleprompter….and it is anything even close to crib notes…its 6 things she wanted to make sure to address…SIX words….not a whole bunch of words on a teleprompter….SIX….and Im sure if she really cared about people seeing her “notes to self” she wouldnt have allowed her hand to be exposed to the public or camera’s…..talk about grabbing at straws sheesh, let’s talk about something that actually matters…..

  18. Felix Paladin says

Sarah Palin revealed to the world that she cannot even remember what her own top priorities or beliefs are without writing them on her palm. Is that truly what the Conservatives, Republicans or even the opposition is ready to call a potential candidate?

  19. Klink Cannoli says

I just love how this down to earth lady can whip up the progressive froth with the simplest of gestures. The show is hilariously entertaining!
