A Tufts University study has shown that people are able to generally guess political affiliation based facial appearance related to Democrat and Republican personality stereotypes.
Researchers conducted three separate tests to confirm their conclusion. In the first study, participants were able to accurately choose Democrat and Republican Party Senate candidates simply by looking at black-and-white photos of their faces. In a second study, people were able to distinguish between Democrats and Republicans in college just by looking at their yearbook photos.
In the third study, researchers were able to pinpoint which qualities made someone look Democratic or Republican.
When asked to assign attributes to the faces, subjects associated Democrats with qualities such as “warmth,” “likeability,” and “trustfullness,” while Republicans were tagged with “power,” “dominance,” and “maturity.”

@Star but you forget your dealing with a test of college students. Of course they trust the immature "Don't trust anyone over 30", remember?
Hmmm…. I’d think it would be hard to put your “TRUST” in someone who is “IMMATURE.”
This study illustrates why we end up with the type of legislators we do. I guess they haven't heard the expression: "Don't judge a book by it's cover."
Most candidates can look good in a suit making utopian promises and dropping catchy phrases like "Hope" and "Change," but that often wears off once they're elected and you see what a poor excuse of a representative they really are. I fine example of this would be none other than our comrade-in-chief, Obama.
How much money was wasted on this study? I can tell you a guy wearing a purple velvet suit is probably a pimp, but that doesn’t do diddly to make things better. Hey Tufts University, how about doing a study on why people are so ridiculously selfish when making their political decisions, instead of maintaining what’s best for the founding ideals and visions of its designers?
