It’s something like The Christmas Carol with the ghost of Christmas Past. It haunts you. You can’t just overlook it. It’s there. And it will always be there. The past does not go away. It stays the same; no alterations, no changes.
Up in Massachusetts, the political commentators are talking about Teddy Kennedy’s Senate Seat. The Democrats are saying that the seat belongs to them; they are entitled to it; they make it sound as though they are the only ones entitled to it; the seat was held by Teddy Kennedy elected in the early 1960′s after his brother became the President and the Senate seat was finally vacated; the seat was held by John Kennedy won in the 1952 election. So the democrats call it THEIRS.
But it isn’t THEIRS.
Before President Kennedy held the Senate seat, Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr. held it beginning with the 1936 election. Then in the beginning of 1944, Lodge served with distinction in World War II. He resumed in 1947 holding that Senate seat up till the election of 1952, when John Kennedy won the seat. That same seat was held by Henry Cabot Lodge, the grandfather of Jr. The grandfather held the seat from the election of 1892 till he died, November 9th, 1924. And his great-grandfather was Senator George Cabot.
Don’t get bored. It gets interesting now.
Hatred between the Kennedys and the Cabot Lodges. John Kennedy won the Presidency in 1960; Cabot Lodge Jr. ran for Vice-President in 1960 on the Republican ticket.
No matter what the issue was, the Kennedys and Lodges wound up on opposite sides.
President Kennedy had the Bay of Pigs fiasco; the invasion of Cuba. Henry Cabot Lodge the grandfather, back in 1898 was strongly in favor of intervention in Cuba; we know that The Rough Riders won that war. Lodge is credited with saying “Of the sympathies of the American people, generous, liberty-loving, I have no question. They are with the Cubans in their struggle for freedom.” Cabot Lodge opposed the League of Nations; he felt it infringed on the sovereignty of America. His grandson served as Ambassador to the United Nations, looking to protect the interests of America. Today we hear of one world order. Totally in opposition of the Cabot Lodge conservative outlook.
But the big one I want to present to you is Immigration. The Immigration Restriction League fought for and finally won under President Coolidge in 1924 immigration restrictions. Lodge wanted literacy tests, educated immigrants should come in. No unskilled foreign labor should come in; that would reduce American’s standard of living. Wages would be undermined. Those foreigners could not be assimilated into our culture. Crime would increase; the poverty levels would be brought over here. Both Lodge and Theodore Roosevelt expressed what they called “100% Americanism” – In 1888 Lodge said “Let every man honor and love the land of his birth and the race from which he springs and keep their memory green. It is a pious and honorable duty. But let us have done with British-Americans and Irish-Americans and German-Americans, and so on, and all be Americans [....] If a man is going to be an American at all let him be so without any qualifying adjectives; and if he is going to be something else, let him drop the word American from his personal description.” The Immigration Restriction League did make one error in my opinion; they disbanded after they won. We need them back. I’ll tell you why we need them back. Because of the Immigration Act of 1965. By 1965 President Kennedy was already dead. The democrat party changed. The democrats of today are nothing like they were when Kennedy was President. Everybody mourned when Kennedy was assassinated. The ideals of the Democrats, the glory of the party are buried with Kennedy.
Ted Kennedy strongly supported the Immigration act of 1965. Family Reunification, chain migration, became unlimited. Distant relations flooded in. Overwhelming numbers of immigrants came in. Ted Kennedy, speaking from the Senate floor said, “First, our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same [....] Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset [....] Contrary to the charges in some quarters, [the bill] will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia [....] In the final analysis, the ethnic pattern of immigration under the proposed measure is not expected to change as sharply as the critics seem to think [....] It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs.”
Now we see what the outcome really is. Now we have high unemployment. Real wages are down, asset values are down, foreclosures are up. What is the worker working for? A standard of living that keeps going down? Immigration between 1965 and 1970 doubled. Between 1970 and 1990 immigration doubled again. The demographics of America have changed.
Yes, the Senate seat once held by Teddy Kennedy is up for election. No need to keep his agenda for that seat. This is an opportunity to bring that Senate seat back into the fold of the Patriotic Conservatives. Vote. Go out there and Vote. Bring Back that seat to the true owners of it – The People of Massachusetts. The Conservative Patriotic Republicans as embodied in the Republican Candidate, Scott Brown.

Immigration is having the same effect on Britain, for the same reasons. The majority of immigrants have no intention of integrating with traditional British culture. They are there for the social benefits, because it’s an easy ride. And the strain on the public purse is becoming quite enormous.
And if you didn’t know already, the ANC did the same in South Africa. Allowed millions of immigrants from Africa into South Africa. Most of these people receive some sort of benefit from the taxpayer. And in return the ANC has a few million more voters. So it doesn’t even matter that past ANC supporters are fed up with their government and its empty promises, because there are quite a few immigrants replacing those lost votes.
Read Cheryl’s post again and also cast your eye to the other side of the Atlantic. And make the votes count while they still mean something.
The democrats are corrupt and will find a way to "elect" their candidate, and to pass their healthcare theft and slavery bill. That's what you do when you are corrupt, lie, cheat, steal and that sort of thing. To expect anything less from them would be naive.
DEAD PEOPLE OF MASSACHUSETTS, UNITE! Get up from your graves and VOTE! Your party needs you to prevent a REPUBLICAN from occupying YOUR Senate seat! Do what you have always done in the past. SUPPORT YOUR PARTY!
watch the "coakley thug" video on utube. you'll see what desperate thugs the dems are.
I’m afraid expertman is correct. And I’m afraid most non-democrats really do not know the extent of the corruption that got us to where we are now. That corruption will be hard to stop until people REALLY know the extent.
i think the dead folks will over come brown an keep demorats and ACORN in control
