I went into Google, but it wasn’t a headline in NEWS. So I Googled New York, “Police, Pitbulls”. I wonder why it wasn’t a listed NEWS item. It was a passing news item; but no follow-up.
You know how the Mayor, the Mayor elected for a Third Term? Elected for a Third Term because without him there is absolutely nobody who can manage to figure out how to run New York City, you know how the Mayor likes to say “there are too many guns on the streets”? It’s always been too many criminals on the streets. The weapons vary. Well, now the criminals are having pitbulls attacking the police.
We all heard about dog fights. How they train the dogs to attack and fight; how dogs have been tortured, how dogs have been killed. Some of the reporters have said it’s cultural, part of a culture. Well now dogs are attacking the police. Mr. Mayor, you need to let the criminals know that in New York City, no matter what the weapon, if you are a criminal you are subject to punishment for your crimes. There needs to be law and order. There needs to be punishment for crimes. The criminals need to be separated from the peaceful tax-paying hard-working public. The criminals are subject to incarceration. And the Mayor should show concern for the Police.
What about the four cops who were shot all in one day by one criminal in Oakland, California? Where is the news follow-up?
What about the four cops killed by one criminal while they were having their morning coffee up near Seattle, Washington? Where is the news follow-up?
In New York City, the Mayor has to make sure that New York City is the Greatest City there is. He cannot make it friendly to criminal elements by bending the laws to accommodate the criminals, making lighter sentences, or giving out probation. They spend big money on what they call “reducing the recidivism rate”. Spending big money. Tax-payer money. Why not spend the money to protect the tax-payer or the police? Who would want to become a police officer? Why should anyone, man or woman, risk their life to become a police officer? The Mayor needs to recognize why he was re-elected; who re-elected him; why his margin IN SPITE OF HIS MONEY was so narrow.
He’s been given a fantastic opportunity; just to be the Mayor of New York City is the greatest opportunity. There is no other city like New York. You can travel the whole world, there is no other city like New York. And as the Mayor has found out, money can’t buy you the margin of victory you would like in being elected Mayor of the Greatest City. Cater to your constituents who only want the best place to live, work and raise their families. Cater to the businesses that build up New York and make it the economic powerhouse it is. Tourists flock to New York. Conventions love to be booked in New York. There is only one BROADWAY. They might have a street in every town named Broadway; but there is really one, just one BROADWAY.
The Mayor needs to recognize that criminals are not welcome in New York City. Criminals need to be put in jails for their crimes. They cannot be allowed to roam among us. They cannot be allowed an opportunity to do us harm. Their weapons have to be taken away from them. They come up with a weapon of a dog; that weapon has to be denied them. They commit a crime; they go to jail.
WE THE PEOPLE do not want to see New York City brought down. The police are looking to protect us, WE THE PEOPLE. The Mayor has to do everything he can to help the police achieve their objectives.

I have travelled to many cities on a few continents. NYC is indeed great. Well, it’s the greatest I have seen so far. For many reasons.
But Cheryl is correct – get ride of crime. It’s is a fact of life that crime can destroy great cities. It can even destroy great countries.
