Barack Obama announced Friday that he intends to lift a 22-year-old travel ban on people with HIV/AIDS from entering the United States.
The new guidelines will be effective at the start of 2010.
“We talk about reducing the stigma of this disease, yet we’ve treated a visitor living with it as a threat,” Obama told reporters during a press conference. “If we want to be the global leader in combating HIV/AIDS, we need to act like it.”

Here in Idaho a young athlete came from Africa to attend a RELIGIOUS UNIVERSITY on a FULL SCHOLARSHIP! That was around 1980. He was very good as an athlete. He had a magnetic personality. He worked well motivating small children and became a trusted and valued member of the community. Women began dating him. Several of them got AIDS. He knew he had it. He kept dating and spreading it. He was put in prison for knowingly spreading his virus. He got out. He infected several more women. Recently he was sent back to prison for the same crime. Hopefully, they will keep him this time. But, it is costing taxpayers thousands of dollars per year to keep him and to treat his disease. Think how much it will cost us to keep treating his victims down through the years. Immigrants in the past centuries were kept at Ellis Island and tested for diseases. They were sent back if they had even so much as bad teeth. Now we accept anybody and everybody. Even tubercular illegal aliens from Mexico! WAKE UP!

And eileen I believe that all people who are not responsible enough to keep there pants zipped up (men and women) and at least make a good effort to keep themselves from getting and spreading diseases like aids should be given the death penalty in all states and countries.
