Berlusconi after the attack
Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi has been bloodied after being attacked during a political rally in Milan.
The 73-year-old right-wing leader defiantly stood up after being knocked down by either a punch or blow from an object to show supporters that he was ok. Blood was seen pouring from his nose and face.
Berlusconi was whisked away to hospital, where doctors report he had two teeth damaged, with one of them broken.
UPDATE: The Wall Street Journal reports that Berlusconi’s nose was also broken by a statue that was thrown by the attacker.
42-year-old Massimo Tartaglia has been arrested for the attack. He has no prior criminal record but does have a history of mental illness.

Liberal or no, attacking people violently to express opposition is fanatic behaviour. No doubt Berlusconi will recover. What is amazing is that, in order to protect and preserve their half pound of shit, people feel it's necessary to support Berlusconi who has two tons of shit.

most of the violence nowadays seems to come from the Left
from that photo it looks like he was really smashed viciously
the appropriate penalty for committing this kind of crime should be a most severe public lashing or caning followed by a lengthy jail sentence
“Tartaglia has a history of mental illness”. Is that politically correct speech to say he is a liberal?
Doesn’t he look beautiful with a few teeth gone and a bloody face? The guy who caused the damage certainly did not like him for some or other reason.
