Obama Aunt “Devastated” By Estrangement

Barack Obama’s estranged aunt, Zeituni Onyango, is “devastated” by becoming persona non grata to the family after it was revealed during last year’s election that she is living as an illegal alien in Massachusetts public housing.

“Before, we were family. But right now, there is a lot of politics, and me, I am not interested in any politics at all,” Onyango, 57, said, burying her hands in her face and bursting to tears.

“It is very sad when such a thing happens. There are people, outsiders, you know, they come in between, they divide a family,” she said. “It’s not easy.”

She has exiled herself from the Obamas, who are her only family in the United States, after attending the inauguration. They have not reached out to her either, despite an ongoing deportation hearing on her immigration status.

Onyango helped care for the president’s half brothers and sister while living with Barack Obama Sr. in Kenya. She moved to the United States in 2000 and applied for asylum in 2002, but her request was rejected and she was ordered deported in 2004.

However, she did not leave the country and continued to live in public housing in Boston. She had been a health care volunteer, but not since her status became public. She refused to discuss how she affords to live now or who is paying for her attorney.

A judge agreed to suspend Onyango’s deportation order in December and reopened her asylum case. A hearing will be held in February, when Onyango can present her reasons for seeking asylum. The judge will then decide if she will be deported.

Her attorney, Margaret Wong, said that Onyango first applied for asylum due to violence in Kenya, an East African nation fractured by cycles of electoral violence every five years. People who seek asylum must show that they face persecution in their homeland on the basis of religion, race, nationality, political opinion or membership in a social group.

Immigration experts say Onyango’s relationship to the president could strengthen her claim she would be subjected to danger at home.

Onyango is the half sister of Obama’s late father, Barack Obama, Sr.

Onyango reserved special words of kindness for former President George W. Bush for a directive he put in place days before the election requiring federal agents get high-level approval to arrest fugitive immigrants, which directly affected Onyango. The directive made clear that U.S. officials worried about possible election implications of arresting Onyango.

She said she wants to thank Bush in person for the order, which gave her a measure of peace but was lifted weeks later.

“I loved President Bush,” Onyango said while moving toward a framed photo of Bush and his wife standing with Barack and Michelle Obama at the White House on inauguration day. “He is my No. 1 man in my life because he helped me when I really needed that help.”

Both Bushes and Reagan both tried very hard to end illegal immigration and close the borders but the liberal/marxist/democrat controlled congress wouldn't let them. The liberals still bash these great men.

Ron you are not right that is mean out president knoe what he is doing. Nobody and i mean nobody tells obama that he isn't doing the right thing. That is his aunt and she speaks her mind if she wants to. That is our presidents mom and don't forget that.

  3. Philoctetes says

If she doesn't like it, get the fuck back to Kenya!!

  4. ron says

Ordered deported in 2004 and this arrogant bitch thumbs her nose at our laws and decides to stay put. However, I see where she gets her arrogance….it runs in the family.

Imagine if George Bush or Reagan had an illegal alien relative in this country and she refused to leave when ordered to do so by the courts. The Liberal/Marxist media sure do have their double standards.

    Why so hateful, Philoctetes?

  6. Aryan says

And while they make her pack for Kenya let them not forget to deport the illegal foreign squatter at the White House as well.

  7. gus says

must be a reason she is allowed to stay in this country…maybe she knows something about obama that he doesn’t want anyone to know…..like where he was born…..

Actually, the Obama Administration has been very proactive with regard to improving border security.

And as far as deporting the president of the United State’s aunt, any President of the United States’ aunt, under the letter of the law of political asylum, they would be remiss not to review the case.

To the radical-righties out there, curb the hate and make the best of each day. Or leave the country and come on back when it’s time to vote again.

    Kalia,

Let me ask you a question based on the "quality" of your grammer.

When and from what country did you sneak into America?

Btw, the illegal alien in this story is not Hussein Obama's mother, as you said she was…it's his AUNT. How about YOU not forgetting that, you moron!

  10. ron says

    Yes, I know…I misspelled “grammar”.

  11. Gypsyluv says

I am a grammar nerd and I, too, misspelled the very word grammar, just like you did. g.r.a.m.m.e.r

    Who knew????

btw: Kalia really should take some ESL classes! Are you listening, Kalia???
