Former DNC Chairman and Democrat presidential hopeful Howard Dean has publicly denounced Barack Obama’s health care bill, saying “Republicans are right about the rhetoric of this bill,” which does nothing to cut costs and is more of a bailout for insurance companies.
The comments were made on left-leaning Air America’s Bill Press show.
Dean’s comments have prompted some to speculate that he may be gearing up for a 2012 challenge against Barack Obama.

This is misleading in the extreme. Dean stated that he wanted the bill passed in the Senate without the public option being removed in order to please Republicans or conservative Democrats. I proposed that the process around passage be restructured so that only a clear majority (51%) of votes would be needed. He certainly never said anything about defeating the bill in its current form, rather, he aimed to get the bill passed in its current form.
They better stop it or his head might explode….again.
He probably would want a single payer plan, knowing him. So I would not read too much into it.
