The Halifax, Nova Scotia franchise of the Guardian Angels has dwindled down to only three members, a critical situation founder and degenerate dirtbag Curtis Sliwa concedes is “minimal membership” for the group.
Despite Sliwa’s claim to The Chronicle Herald that 20 people applied to the franchise when it first opened in December 2007, only 8 actually volunteered to put their lives at risk without pay.
Two years ago, Sliwa said up to 16 volunteers would probably be needed to form a chapter in Halifax Regional Municipality.
On Thursday, Sliwa said seeing the group dwindle to just three means “we’ve got a lot of work ahead of us.”
Four members left last winter due to “personal differences” with the organization. Despite an aggressive recruitment effort and allowing people as young as 16 years to participate (with parental consent), no new applicants have come forward.
Angels Apologist Linda Mosher
Angels apologist Coun. Linda Mosher, who was recently graded C- for her “whiney” performance in the Halifax City Council, chalked the dwindling numbers to improved policing since the Angels set up shop in Halifax. “We’ve got more bodies on the force and more (police officers) on the street, and those type of swarming issues and things are not as prominent,” said Ms. Mosher. “But you can’t force somebody to volunteer. If there are not people out there not willing to put the time in, maybe it’s because there’s not a need for them.”
The Right Perspective interviewed Halifax Police Chief Beazley in December 2007 when Sliwa was first trying to muscle his way into the city’s Commons area. Chief Beazley then learned of Sliwa’s hyperbolic activities and history of taking advantage of well-meaning citizens looking to make their city a better place to live.
