Conservative pundit Lou Dobbs, who recently quit his cable news show at CNN, says that a run for political office may be in his future and may try for a Senate seat in New Jersey.
“A lot of things are on my mind, I’m not going to be coy about this,” Dobbs told fellow commentator Bill O’Reilly, but add that he is “thinking about a lot of things.”
Dobbs also says the issue for his firing was not over his relatively-strong views on illegal immigration and the so-called “birther” movement, but had more to do with artistic differences with management.
“The only issue that came up in the last 90 days of my employment there was that Jon Klein and I had talked about the issue of opinion itself and advocacy journalism, and he wanted to take the network in a different direction,” he told O’Reilly.
Dobbs also said he had “absolute editorial control” over his show.
