Doug Hoffman
Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman has “unconceded” the New York State 23rd Congressional District race, which he initially lost to Democrat Bill Owens two weeks ago.
When he conceeded to Owens, Hoffman was trailing by 5,335 votes. However, the Syracuse Post-Standard reports that margin has shrunk to 3,026, and some 10,000 absentee ballots remain uncounted.
“If I knew this information at the election night, I would not have conceded,” Hoffman said. When asked if he was “unconceding” by conservative talk radio host Glen Beck, Hoffman said, “yes”.
For Hoffman to win, 65 percent of the absentee ballots would have to go in his favor, something the Conservative does concede is a “long shot”.

We shall overcome! Now, how will they explain that Gov. Palin, Rush, and all those conservatives who backed him have now won! There is a tidal wave coming to this nation, be part of it, or be washed away!
It’s unfortunate that he will probably not get the number of votes he needs to pull it off. It would be nice to see a run-off though.
My concern is what does this mean with respect to Nancy Pelosi swearing Bill Owens in and making him vote on the House healthcare reform bill? According to news reports I have heard, Pelosi was aware that Owens had not been certified as the winner.
And again according to news reports, Owens immediately broke his campaign promise not to vote for healthcare reform.
Nice move Doug!!! You did the right thing and might I say, there are no non-democrats that would have made this move. Good move, my hat’s off to you!
