Sweden has decided to expand a two-year-old program that reimburses failed asylum seekers for their trip back home.
The program was available to only failed asylum seekers from Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, and the West Bank and Gaza. It will now include 20 additional countries, mostly from Africa, in addition to parts of Russia and Kosovo.
The Swedish Migration Board (Migrationsverket) estimate about 18,000 will be repatriated in 2009. 42% of those cases will be voluntary, with many of them involving people from Iraq.
It is also estimated that Swedish police will handle approximately 10,000 cases of people who do not want to leave and will be forced to return home after having their asylum cases rejected.
The cost of the current repatriation assistance program is calculated to be between US $5.7 to US $7.2 million. However, officials are expanding it because it gets results.
“Our main objective – and what we’ve already seen from the evaluations we’ve done so far – is to have fewer cases handed over to the police in relation to our total number of cases,” said Caroline Henjered, head of the agency’s division for asylum reception.
According to a recent report from the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), 10,000 asylum seekers came to Sweden in the first six months of 2009, down from 12,000 applications during the first half of 2008, Sveriges Radio (SR) reports.

The Dutch tried it and called it affectionately a “bugger-off grant” but it didn’t work that well as many later returned after first having banked the money in their respective countries so they could do the whole process all over again.
Nah, I would put them in ‘industrial camps’ on an island off the coast and let them work while they’re awaiting the outcome of their asylum status so that the local taxpayers don’t have pay the bill. And if their asylum request was rejected I would make them keep on working until they’ve saved up for their return ticket.
If you do that you’ll see that as soon as that policy is know outside the Swedish borders the amount of asylum seakers will immediately reduce drastically, simply because a lot of them mud-people don’t wanna work but seek handouts from stupid liberal/left-wing whitey.
All of those invaders are muslim…and an overwhelming majority of those asylum cases are fraudulent.
What’s particularly revolting is that all these muslims are escaping the very culture, traditions, and way of life that they, themselves, created…only to bring the same diseased way of life to the countries they invade…that’s because they don’t assimilate and adopt their new countries’ culture and traditions. They look to replace those counrties’ culture with their own. That’s what’s happening all over Europe, and it’s also happening here in America. And we have Ted Kennedy to thank in large part for it. I hope he’s adapting to the extreme heat and smoke where he is today.

After many years of reading many of the english written newspapers of the world it is obvious that many of the issues that make the news in them are fuel to the anti muslim movement. That “movement” (and that term is minimized here for good manners) appears to be sourced by those of a jewish persuasion. Could I be wrong? I live in Australia and if all repliers like to know we now have the fastest increase in alien immigration ie population increase in the world ,ie over 500,000 pa in 22 million .I think that our criminal pollies should given some concrete reinforcment and then buried in concrete.We have crime ie rapes of whie females/ violence / murders/robberies/illegal importation of drugs and anything that will make a cash profit, yet we allow a ‘mus’ family to enter the country illegally and we give them free detention accomodation plus allowances for their two wives and kids and when they are released they get a home and all allowances can add up to something like $129,000 A$ whereas our pensioners have a means test and are given a maximum of around some thing around 20to$26,000 and have to hand over their home to be able to enter a nursing home if they are unable to care for themselves.That is unless they have enough capital to pay their own way.The trans nationals are taking over the country ie Saudi arabia/US/Singapore?China/ to name a few and The pollies have sold most of our assetts including agricultural land/communications/transport/etc etc.Iam happy I am 73 years old but I feel sad for the blood it is going to cost my siblings and their generation.Any Ideas to remedy this stuff up ?
