Barack Obama‘s choice of a new pastor who openly advocates that Islam is a “violent faith” has led some to question whether the presidential pick was politically motivated.
As Obama’s 20-plus-year relationship with his former minister, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, helped the up-and-coming politician score credibility with Chicago’s African-American Democrat community, the choice of Rev. Carey Cash, the great-nephew of singer Johnny Cash who has baptized more than 50 servicemen and written that “grace is often absent in Islam,” may help the president score points with Christian-conservatives and Zionists concerned about Obama’s Middle East policy and ties to Islam.
Rev. Cash has become the navy chaplain at the Camp David presidential retreat and Obama told reporters this summer that the 39-year-old Rev. Cash “delivers as powerful a sermon as I’ve heard in a while. I really think he’s excellent”.
Obama says he personally likes Rev. Cash and the Evergreen Chapel at Camp David, which is 70 miles (113km) from Washington is closed to the public and press. The Washington Times reports the White House has instructed Rev. Cash not to talk to the media.
In his book, A Table in the Presence, Rev. Cash writes that a “wall of angels” protected him and his men as they first reached Baghdad during the Second Gulf War in 2003. “Yes, our men were lost and separated. But our God was not confused. Just as He had from the very beginning of the war, He was providentially working all things together for the good of a cause that was just and true,” he wrote.
On Islam, Rev. Cash wrote, “Sadly, grace is often absent in Islam, which is based upon binding religious law, requiring strenuous adherence to every tenet of the ‘Five Pillars of Allah’. [....] A religion that emerges from the soil of strict adherence to law as a means of gaining God’s favour will always tend toward extreme self-sacrifice.”
Obama’s former minister, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, became a political liability during the presidential campaign after videos surfaced of the controversial pastor making anti-American, anti-White and anti-Israeli comments. Obama quickly distanced himself from Rev. Wright, saying his 20-plus years of attending his politically influential church was inconsequential.
The incident led some critics to conclude that Obama used Rev. Wright for political gain and then “threw him under the bus” when the relationship became a political liability.

First off-word on about Obama’s motives. Although I can say that I only wish he would be changed by the preaching of the Gospel. THEN he could be trusted in as far as he followed Christ. Another thing? There is NO WAY Obama could sit under the tutelage of someone like a Jeremiah Wright and leave it unscathed. If he had disagreed with J. Wright he would have left that so-called “church” long ago. I’ve said before and I will say again for it a biblical truth and not mine. ‘And you will know them by their fruit” (paraphrased) I pray for him every night. For him to allow God to change him from what he is-to what he could become. As far as anything else he has done-from denouncing America as a country AND as a Christian nation so that he could win kudos from what I still perceive as his people Islam-to killing babies to removing that image having to do with Jesus. On eperson may say “But Obama didn’t kill any babies personally? That is SO far wrong as anything could be. He has innocent blood flowing from his hands as do everyone that voted him in. One last thing? It is the epitome of callousness on his part to force PRO-Life taxpayers to pay for this infanticide binge that “Planned Parenthood” ( what an odious name for such a slaughtering machine!) has been on since it’s inception. I do think, however that it is more than ironic that Obama would so endorse this “killing machine” as founded by Margaret Sanger as she “founded” it to kill off blacks.
Hey wanda, I just could not agree with you more. You took the words out of my mouth.
It;s very simple. Listen to anti-American, anti-whites and anti-Israli speech for twenty years does not leave your soul. When Michell, said after Obama was nominated by the Democratic party for president that this was the first time she was proud to be an American……that said it ALL. Neither likes this country. Twenty years of hate does not
disappear.
