Anything is possible of course, but according to Biblical Prophesy everything happens by providence. So I think that the Polish Pope came on the scene to help break down the Communist pillars of the Soviet Union through his native country Poland and the German Pope came on the scene because the Tyrannical Fascist Leader (beast) of the EU (Revival of the old Holy Roman Empire) will come out of Germany. Heralding the start of the Tribulation time spoken of in Rev. 17:9-13 and Matt 24:2.

They were considering this Ghanian cardinal during the last time they were considering a pope. The concensus was that it did not matter. If they selected a pope who was a “brother”, he would still sing the same tune as the others.
