That site is still largely undeveloped and its locale is PERFECT for highway access, parking, mass transit accessability, as well as a close proximity to La Guardia and JFK airports and the plethora of hotels. Let's be honest, there's a reason why the annual U.S. Tennis Open is such a raving success in that same area. Manhattan and the outer boroughs were never really an option for the IOC not only because of the logistical traffic nightmare and lack of mass transit access..... but because of the fear of terrorism....period!
