Iran Launches Long-Range Missile

A day after successfully test-firing a short-range missile, Iran announced Monday it had also tested medium- and long-range missiles, capable of reaching Israel and American bases in the Middle East.

“Iranian missiles are able to target any place that threatens Iran,” senior Revolutionary Guards official Abdullah Araqi told reporters.

The Iranian announcement comes after last week’s revelation that the Islamic republic has been building a secret uranium-enriching plant. Iran has invited IAEA inspectors to visit the project, located in Qom.
