Gaddafi Throws Conspiracy Theories During UN Speech
Libyan president Col. Muammar Gaddafi threw several anti-Israeli conspiracy theories into his speech to the UN General Assembly Wednesday, blaming the Jewish state for massacres and implying that Israel was behind the assassination of JFK, and the Swine Flu may have been a biological weapon that accidentally got out of control.
“Jack Ruby, an Israeli, killed Lee Harvey Oswald,” the Libyan leader was quoted by the translator as saying. “Why did this Israeli kill Harvey? Ruby later died mysteriously. The whole world should know that Kennedy wanted to investigate the actions of the Israeli nuclear reactor in Dimona.”
Gaddafi also heaped blame on Israel for the 1982 Sabra and Shatila massacre in which Lebanese militants murdered hundreds of Palestinians in a refugee camp in an area under Israeli control, as well as for the 2008 conflict in Gaza.
Elsewhere in his speech, Gaddafi began discussing his theories on the origin of the Swine Flu when the transmission of his translation was suddenly lost.
“Perhaps, this Swine Virus was maybe is one of those viruses that was created in the laboratory and it got out of control because it was meant to be from the beginning as a military weapon….,” Gaddafi said before the sound went dead.
Moments later, an announcer came on to apologize for the loss of the transmission and then Gaddafi came back on. The rest of his theories on the Swine Flu were lost and not repeated.
Gaddafi also denounced the UN Security Council, saying “It should be called the Terror Council” instead.
