The Right Perspective reported extensively on the refugee claim by Brandon Huntley (a white South African) in Canada. The following post is a prime example of how white citizens are treated in South Africa today. Hat tip ILSA and CensorbugbearReports.
Translated from the Afrikaans newspaper daily Beeld. You will not find too many articles like this in English newspapers, seems they are too busy dismissing such claims. How many stories like this are needed for people to believe that the claims of white persecution by blacks is real?
Linda de Beer of Beeld newspaper reports that an Afrikaner farmer from De Wildt near Brits north of Pretoria was granted $300 bail after being arrested the previous day by a massive 20-strong police contingent at his farm.
The arrest followed after the farmer had lodged two formal complaints against unknown black men who had threatened to kill him. Mr Short (shown left with wife Rene after he was granted $300 bail by the Brits magistrate’s court).
He said he was threatened by four black men at his farm on the day of his arrest. Short tried to make a citizen’s arrest of the four men during which a scuffle broke out between his dog, himself and the men. He fired a warning shot into the air to stop one would-be assailant from running off but he got away.
When he tried to contact the police by phone to have the remaining three men arrested formally there was no response at the police station telephone – at all. He then contacted a local security company who collected the three men and delivered them to the police station. Short then lodged formal charges of ‘intimidation’ for the death threats the men had allegedly made towards him.
The civil rights movement AfriForum is preparing counter-charges at the police’s Independent Complaints Directorate about the way Mr Short – who was a clear victim of an aggressive group of black men who had threatened to kill him – was treated by the police, said Nantes Kelder, head of its community safety department.
Security-conscious white farmers
Short’s arrested attackers lodged counter-charges of attempted murder, assault, failure to control a dangerous dog and pointing a firearm. Kelder said Short lodged formal charges against two of these men, both Zimbabweans, for threatening to kill him.
The farmer’s small homestead was targeted by earlier farm attacks and he was being, as are most other white South African farmers, very security conscious. It’s a matter of life and death. More than 3,085 white farmers, their kin and workers have already been murdered since 1994 in many tens of thousands of inexplicable armed attacks against their homesteads in South Africa.
Kelder: ‘Short was arrested in a massive show of force, with at least twenty policemen in some 7 police cars showing up at high speed at his homestead, dragging him out of his house.’ He was held in the Mmakau police cells, denied treatment for a bite-wound while the arrested men who had threatened to kill him were taken to a hospital for examination,’ said Kelder.
“Short was also denied the use of a mattress in the police cell and had to sleep on the floor while two black cellmates were given mattresses and blankets”. Kelder alleges further that the Mmakau police officials failed to carry out the legally-mandated night-time inspections of the cell Kelder was held.
Police captain Adéle Myburgh confirmed that charges of attempted murder were laid against Short and that Short had also placed charges of intimidation against the men because they ‘threatened to kill him.’
Chris Louw, a well-known local freelance journalist who lives in the Silkaatsnek region near De Wildt said land-owners ‘have reached breaking point’ in this region with the ‘incredible high level of crime’ targeting them over the past three months.
Since 27 July, he himself had also already had five break-ins and two days earlier one of his dogs was poisoned – a well-known warning sign that crime-gangs are planning to target his home again.
Kobus Oosthuyzen, chairman of the De Wildt Helpmekaar Company – a non-profit organisation founded to help fight crime in the region said that over the past few months there have been seven armed attacks against white-owned homesteads in broad daylight.

As you know Brandon Huntley, a white South African, was granted asylum in Canada due to racial persecution. Black South Africans constitute a majority of the victims of crime. The point of this letter, however, is that there are violent crimes committed against South African whites that clearly point at black racism – A fact the ANC led government will deny even when faced with hard facts.

The South African government is keeping the true state of black on white racist crime away from public scrutiny. Brandon Huntley’s situation is larger than the plight of a single individual: It is making the world aware of racial crimes being committed against whites in South Africa.Our hope is the world’s attention is now focused on this issue and that the world will do some research which will have the effect that the ANC government will be asked some very uncomfortable questions.
The ANC government wants the world to believe South Africa has only white racists – that black people are always the victims. This is far from the truth. We are about 4 million whites in a country with a population of 48 million. With a little research you will learn there is a media black-out that denies coverage of black on white racially-charged murders. The absence of fair and just treatment for whites by the ANC enhances racial divisions that polarize rather than unify this country – New wounds keep this country from moving forward. ‘Our’ Government ignores our pleas, treats us as second-class citizens> Most of our fellow black South Africans say we are ‘lying’; these ‘nay-sayers’ support the ANC with the same errant gusto National Party supporters once offered the Apartheid regime. We feel we are on a dead- end street.
We welcome all feedback but it is not easy to get black support – due to blacks who fear they will no longer appear to be the victims of white supremacy, ANC propaganda, ignorance or, sadly, political disinterest and expedience. However, I am sure that as time goes by more black South Africans will join this debate. Our question is, even if we gain black support, will it be enough to convince the ANC government to do something?
You will read many ‘articles’ alleging how ‘happy’ white people are in South Africa. Most of these articles are written by foreigners living in Cape Town. Cape Town is not a country: It is a small section of South Africa. In contrast, the majority of white South Africans are 3rd to 15th generation and generally have a huge family base – The larger your family the more likely your chance that a member of your family will be a victim of crime. Foreigners fortunately/unfortunately do not have a large family base in South Africa. From that perspective, articles discussing their experience are unbalanced and without basis of fact.
Returning to racist black on white crime. Below, I am using the most recent example of black on white crime to provide you a generalized picture of the brutality and torture being inflicted on whites. Am I saying, “Poor white South Africans?” No! I am saying it is indisputable that some blacks target whites for only one reason: Because they are white. Can you imagine the outcry if it was whites that did the following to black women? People in SA do not hear about these murders as it is not in the interest of the ANC or its followers to portray a ‘foul image’ to the world. Black on white racist crime is real and our government refuses to acknowledge it. Again, our hope is that the Huntley case will make the international community ask the ANC some very uncomfortable questions.
One of the most shocking recent examples of anti-white racist hate-crimes involved the April 1, 2009 torture-murders of Alice Lotter, 77, and her daughter Helen, 57, which caused a wave of abhorrence amongst the entire white community because of its incredible cruelty. The women, both frail, were tortured to death at their farm in Allenridge near Welkom in the Free State on April 1, 2009. According to forensic evidence, the Lotter mother and daughter died excruciatingly painful deaths: First tortured by being stabbed with broken glass bottles into their vaginas; one of the women also had her breasts cut off while she was still alive – and then both women’s blood, police forensic experts found, had been used to paint the ANC’s anti-Afrikaner hate slogan ‘Kill the Boer Kill the Farmer’ on the walls of their homestead.Frail old people are usually targetted. It emerged that ANC deputy secretary-general, Thandi Modise, had discredited the Huntley incident by stating that, in her experience, racial attacks in South Africa were more likely to take place the other way around (white against black).

Johannesburg – Criminals do not target people because of their skin colour, national police commissioner Bheki Cele said on Wednesday.
“Criminals in South Africa… they look at what you have, rather than looking at your face,” Cele said at a Southern African Regional Police Chiefs Co-operation Organisation meeting in Johannesburg.
He was reacting to a decision by Canadian authorities to grant South African Brandon Huntley refugee status for alleging that the government could not protect white South Africans from criminal attacks by “African South Africans”.
“My house was broken into and some stuff was taken… and I remain black. Surely, my house was never broken into because I am black,” said Cele.
Huntley told immigration officials in Canada that black people had attacked him on seven different occasions and that white people were not safe in South Africa.
He did not lay any charges with the police after any of the incidents, The Star newspaper reported on Wednesday.
“I’ve opened people’s eyes,” Huntley told the daily.
‘Victim of his race’
Canadian authorities granted him refugee status, to the ire of the ruling ANC.
The South African government was not asked to make any presentation in the case.
The chairperson of the board who made the decision, William Davis, ruled that Huntley “was a victim because of his race rather than a victim of criminality”.
“The evidence… shows a picture of indifference and inability or unwillingness of the government and the security forces to protect white South Africans from persecution by African South Africans,” said Davis.
Home affairs spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa said the decision was based on “absolute rubbish”, while the ANC described it as racist.

I would kindly ask that you help us in bringing this to the worlds attention because we are not living in a democratic state, but a one party state that use ‘democracy’ to fool the international community. The day the ANC give up power peacefully to an opposition party, is the day we know, Democracy finally started in South Africa.

After all of the years whites have oppressed, raped, stolen, robbed, pilaged, invaded, manipulated, castrated, and stepped on the knecks of blacks so much as to literally beat the last breath out of blacks and their land and resources you all have the audacity to feel superior and think that you don’t deserve to receive the exact same kind of treatment. How many of your forefathers acutally earned what you are living on now? How many were fair to blacks when they invaded Africa and took what never was intended for them or belonged to them? The Bantu invaded first. They did ALL of the above to the natives and to each other. AND, they failed to create a civilization that had any real potential. So, at least according to your logic, I guess the blacks had it coming when the Brits and Boers defeated them in war. A better attitude might be to treat all humans as equal and none deserving of torture, but that’s just an idea.
