The South African government is demanding the Canadian government review the decision made by its Immigration and Refugee Board, that granted a White South African refugee status due to racial persecution.
31-year-old Brandon Huntley successfully claimed he was persecuted by Black South Africans because he is White and the South African government was basically complicit in the persecution. The ruling ANC cried “racist” at the ruling, and is now taking steps to have the ruling overturned.

‘We are of the view that the relevant Minister in Canada has the ability to do a judicial review [….] and the SA Government will be urging the Canadian Government to do so,’ Sue van der Merwe, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Co-operation, told South African Parliament Wednesday.
Hours later, Danielle Norris, a spokeswoman for Canada’s federal citizenship and immigration department, announced announced department lawyers are reviewing the Board’s decision. “The government could seek a judicial review,” Norris said, adding that “A judicial review by the Federal Court will not hear additional evidence with respect to the facts — for example, conditions in South Africa.”
Huntley’s lawyer, Russell Kaplan, told reporters it is unlikely that the decision will be reviewed. “The SA Government cannot appeal the ruling because they were never a party,” Kaplan said. “The Canadian Government is the only other party who can appeal.”
Thandi Modise
Thandi Modise, deputy secretary-general of the ANC, told reporters that while crime exists in South Africa, racial attacks are rare in the country. “I think it might have been a little better for the Canadian government to see whether or not it is true that any South African gets attacked seven times,” Modise told Reuters.
“I don’t know what went on here, but I have my doubts whether racism and racist attacks on a white individual in South Africa would be the case, because our experience is that it happens the other way round in our country,” Modise said.

I live in Cape Town and know that this guy is full of bullshit. It’s actually not that hard here to avoid being around kaffirs if you want to. The majority of the population here is coloured (mixed race).
The simple fact is that he lived in Mowbray. That’s a very dirty and dangerous suburb. All he would have had to do is move to another neighborhood. That’s like living in Detroit and saying all of America sucks. All he would have had to do is move a 5-10km away. There isn’t a single kaffir (or any non-white) that I know of that lives within a few blocks of my house in Fish Hoek.
If he was in Johannesburg his story might stick, but not in CT.
