Curtis Sliwa: The Al Sharpton Of Crime Fighting

Great op-ed piece from The Daily Plunge. Short but sweet and to the point, this author really has The Right Perspective!

Is there anything more annoying than people we constantly seek media attention? Curtis Sliwa is one of those silly figures that pops up on cable news. I saw him on CNN last night while flipping through the channels, but he’s been on almost every cable news network. It’s impossible to miss him; he’s always wearing that hideous red beret.

I’m sure Sliwa’s Guardian Angels have done some good things, but he’s still a media chaser. Al Sharpton made a name for himself in the fabricated Tawana Brawley case. After that was shown to be a hoax we should have never heard from Sharpton again, but sadly, he’s still eating up air time. Like Sharpton, Sliwa has been part of various fabricated incidents in order to get press.

I just don’t understand why anyone would pay attention to a guy who has made a career out of being a media whore. It’s even worse that Sliwa is considered part of “conservative talk radio.” That’s just the endorsement conservatives need. Some half hearted vigilante who dresses up in his own uniform. Sliwa wants to be Batman except we know who he is, and we know he’s not actually helping anyone.

    Did anyone see the picture in Sunday’s NY Daily News about Curtis and his sisters celebrating their parents’ 65 wedding anniversary at St. Patrick’s Cathedral? Curtis was wearing his red “sateen” jacket and his red beret. Since he was brought up in Catholic shools, he should know that males are NOT supposed to wear any kind of hat in church. It seems that he holds his religion and its liturgy in the same low regard as he holds for everyone else.

    He’s a disgrace!

    His only religion is Curtis Sliwa! He is the spawn of some bizzare Syrian cult, who was sent to Catholic school instead of public school. He worships money, fame, and idolization by his ignorant and stupid lackeys. He can’t go to confession for his innumerable sins as he wouldn’t have time for anyting else! He is a degenerate liar and media shyster who exploits the dumb, ignorant, stupid, and basically low lifes who join in worshiping him at the atlar of his lies!

    Sheesh, lighten up! CS cracks me up. He beats the hell out of listening to, oh, say, Hannity, for example. Talk about a media whorehog!

    Heck, TV and radio personalities are media whores and hogs with large egos or they wouldn't be in broadcasting.
