Bob "Get off my phone" Grant
Talk radio legend Bob Grant is set return to New York City’s WABC 77AM for the third time starting September 13th.
Grant will do a Sunday show from noon to 2pm.
Grant was infamously fired from WABC in the 1990’s, allegedly for saying that he was a “pessimist” in believing that Clinton administration member Ron Brown would survive a helicopter crash. The conservative icon was brought back in 2005 for an evening show but was let go due to budgetary constraints last year, and had been reduced to doing fill-ins for Mark Levin over the Christmas holiday season.
Since then, Grant has started a morning Internet radio show on Ubatv.com, where he does not take calls. “I think it’s the future of the medium,” he says of his cybershow. “The young people there are very sharp. For me, well, it’s different.”
WABC program director Laurie Cantillo told The NY Daily News she invited Grant back because “many listeners missed his colorful commentary,” adding that the station is looking to add more local programming to its lineup.
Grant has said that should his return to WABC take off, he may move his Ubatv show to a later time of day.

Debbie Schlussel went ballistic today on Bob, because Bob happened to like Robert Novak. Debbie claimed that Novak was an anti-semite, and therefore Bob Grant was praising anti-semitism. That’s all she cares about. See it at this address:

Bob, your about to croak. Give it your all and go back to being your old self. Dump that looser Diamond, stop polluting your head with his sick madness and just be your self. That’s the Bob Grant who was a great champion whom we all loved and honored.
Wabc brought back grant only because he was the only one who really brought in the money. And when he left so did the money. Wabc finally wised up and got bob back. the money also came back. for t.v. and radio stations it’s all about the money.
Put him on weekday nights. An over the hill Bob Grant is better than listening to brain dead Curtis Sliwa anyday!

BTW, Debbie Schlussel got a big problem with Novak. Bob Novak was a Jew who converted to Christianity. Perhaps that’s her beef, and anyone who agrees with him politically is, according to her, an anti-semite by extension.
I think that Novak was an anti-semite, but just because Bob praised him does not make Bob an anti-semite. He has been not only a supporter or Israel, but he has been with the Jewish people on other important matters, going back to the JDL in the early 70s. Bob Grant was and is still no. 1 in my estimation. I would rather listen to him than Rush, Sean, and Curtis put together. Bring him back on weekdays!
