Despite Monday’s announcement from the Obama administration that a public option is off the table for health care reform plans, a mass e-mailing from Left-wing activist group Moveon.org claims the government boondoggle is “not dead” and has overwhelming support from American voters and members of congress.
“Have you read the stories this week declaring the public health insurance option dead? Well, it’s not,” the e-mail reads, citing a June 15 article from the moveon.org website claiming Americans a support single-payer public option by 83%.
The Moveon e-mail then cites two recent articles from Firedoglake and The Examiner to show the public option still has enough House votes to pass.
“And contrary to what you may have read, the White House has said repeatedly their position hasn’t changed,” moveon continues, citing another two new articles from The Wall Street Journal and ABC News.
The e-mail concludes by encouraging recipients to call two key Senators to persuade them from voting in favor of a public option health care plan.
“The truth is, President Obama has said all along that he wants a public option,” writes Moveon.org.
