A Kenyan man has offered to pay US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton a dowry of 40 goats and 20 cows in exchange for her daughter Chelsea’s hand in marriage.
40-year-old Godwin Kipkemoi Chepkurgor, who works as a councillor in Nakuru in Kenya’s Rift Valley, first made the offer in a letter to Secretary Clinton back in 2000. He renewed his proposal at a Nairobi town hall meeting last Thursday, which was held as part of Secretary Clinton’s 7-nation tour of the Dark Continent.
According to experts on Kenyan customs, 40 goats and 20 cows is a very generous dowry to offer. Chepkurgor is already married but he says his wife approves of the addition to the family.
“My daughter is her own person. I will convey this very kind offer,” Chepkurgor quoted Secretary Clinton as saying in response.
“She promised that she will take the proposal to the daughter and I am now waiting,” he said.
Oh, we are, too.

What kind of cows were they – milking, beef, or the kind that Billy likes to fool around with on the side?
Why hasn’t the offer changed at all? She’s older, fewer child bearing years left… plus, she’s outraged at the thought of anybody ironing a shirt.
Somebody needs to teach this guy negotiation skills.
Does this poor guy know who his in-laws would be? Chelsea might not be a bad deal but people who associate with that bunch have a terrible lot of accidents!

The guy is already married because he’s a muslim and his current wife has no say in the matter if he wants another wife! In islam, you’re allowed up to four wives (chattel). And, this 7th century barbarian will “purchase” wives with animals (other chattel). That’s some phukking culture…isn’t it?!
