US District Judge Royce C. Lamberth has thrown out a 13-year old lawsuit against Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for her role in the Filegate scandal.
Filegate exploded in 1996 when the Clinton administration, already under investigation for the firing of White House travel office employees, admitted it sought and received the FBI files of hundreds of prominent Republicans.
The Clinton adminstration argued at the time it was merely following protocol, after President George H.W. Bush, like other presidents, had taken all the White House personnel files with him upon leaving office, even those of permanent White House employees. However, when the Clinton administration requested the FBI files on White House employees so new archives could be made, Clinton staffers did not erase the records of obvious Republican political appointees of past administrations from the lists sent to the FBI.
Republicans accused the Clinton administration of misusing the FBI to get information on political enemies. Attorneys who have pursued the case, which has accumulated 1,500 legal filings, had argued it should not be dismissed until Clinton testifies.
In Thursday’s three-page decision, Judge Lamberth there is no legal reason that he should “require a person who is a busy Cabinet secretary at this point to submit to an oral deposition.”
An independent counsel report in 2000 found no evidence of wrongdoing by White House aides or Clinton.

What a joke. Is Lamberth a Democrat? Hillary is too busy? Doing what? The Obama Administration has limited her authority by giving others the jobs a normal Sec. of State would cover, reducing her to a weak figure head. She is traveling around on the taxpayer dime, doing another all for Hillary tour. While trouble brews further in North Korea, while protesters continue to be killed in Iran, etc., Hillary is on an image builder, having a vacation in India. What a waste. She was once Co-President of an Administration that made it policy to lie about the genocide in Rwanda, appeased a killer named Arafat, peddled pardons to the likes of Marc Rich. Having the ‘Sniper Dodger’ as Sec. of State is an embarrassment.
